AT&T BlackBerry Curve 8900 to run $199 with a 2-year

We just got our hands on the latest AT&T price sheet for the Southwestern region (don’t worry, these prices are national) and what did we find? The BlackBerry 8900 is going to run $99 $199 on a 2-year agreement after $100 MIR. We guess that sort of makes up for the 6 month delay in launching it… We’ll let you know if we find anything else on here, but come on, that’s an awesome price isn’t it?

It becomes available for us to order in 1 week at the $199 after mail in rebate price. So that means it would be $299 at the point of sale with a 2 year agreement. If you dont get the feature then you dont get the 100 mail in. FYI. IMO $199 is a little too steep.

I agree that $199 is too high, especially with TMO selling it for $50 less. What the hell?! I’m starting to think I need to check on TMO coverage in my area…

Hey, attguy, does “us” mean YOU (att employees) or US, the public? :-)

$199 with a 2-year contract is no change for a Curve with AT&T…

Ya know I had a hour long convo with my GAM about this device and she had no idea what the price point was or when it is going to launch. I email her stuff from BGR so she can take it to her boss and find out the scoop for my company.

    Thanks BGR!

    $199 for a non 3G phone? No thanks. 3G is a must.

Samsung jack is replacing the blackjack II because it has reached end of life. I will say again the price for this device is confirmed it was on our new price sheet.

    @ bbgirl

US meaning ATT emps. and stores to order up their shipment of them for sales. So allow 5 days for shipping and stocking and that will give you a rough estimate of when the phone will be sold to the public.

Well that’s a nice phone just that it doesn’t support 3G well just have to wait maybe for the Storm (first generation) or the Storm2.

    Sent via BlackBerry.

AT&T’s 3G network is so overloaded in Jax, FL that I get nothing but EDGE most the time anyway on my Bold

BG, have you lost your mind? $200 is way overpriced. ANY 2G smartphone is an entry-level smartphone, and should be priced accordingly (i.e. centro pricing).

Great! So that sounds like the Memorial Day rumor is pretty on target…

This just makes up my mind to get a Bold. I would not lay out $299 and have to wait for rebate to net $199 on this new Curve.

I want a 3G Blackberry with or without Wi-Fi and I recognize hat the newest version of this line of phones will be coming out at the end of the year (B9xxx) so I might even wait a year for it to come to AT&T, since T-M looks like they will get it first.

Still watching for price of the Bold to go lower too.

I love how alot of you complain about AT&T coming out with a 2g (edge) device. But most of you forget that 3G is not available in all markets. You can go 20 min down the road from me and there’s no 3G tower. Just like someone said earlier not everyone needs the fastest speeds just as long as they get there email.

I think the price drop on the Bold isn’t due to occur until July… This sheet is for May/June so it wouldn’t show on it…

I was just wondering, I wanna get the new Curve 8900 for AT&T, but that price is a lil steep for me, but I have someone who is able to get it for me at the two year discount price for T-Mobile, now my question is, will I be able to unlock the phone for use on the edge network with AT&T and still be able to have all the features available and working?

Sounds like AT&T will be doing the 8900 on 5-21 or 5-22! So much for BGR having to hot scoop. It is being reported on all the other websites.

I have the 8900 for AT&T in my hands, I got it on 5/19. I got mine from an Autho Reseller a couple days early. Where he got the hookup, I have no idea. But $199 after MIR is a sweet deal. This thing looks phenomenal! Screen is crisp, shell is sturdy & has the flush buttons for mute and lock on the top, just like Storm. The WiFi feature is great, much faster than edge network, and it automatically kicks over when you connect to home network or search for hotspot. Trying to see if I can get an App to make calls via WiFi. Anyone know of a better browser? Does AT&T EDGE support Opera Mini?
