I’m nervous of installing right now, but perhaps it will stop my CPU from being so hot on my 15″ MBP and stop all the random freezes/hard lockups/application hangs I’ve had.

I think it’s the NVidia 9630 card causing the problems. Anyone have more information? Cheers!

OS 10.5.7 has reduced resolutions in sys. pref. , no longer supports 1920×1200. Also you may lose all your stickies during up-date!

    DOWNLOAD WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL!

To download 10.5.7, I performed the software update automatically – it did not work. I then just did the download first and it did not work. I got the following message each time:

The update “Mac OS X update can’t be saved”

The digital signature for this package is incorrect. The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by “Apple”

I am currently running 10.5.6 and just so happened to download 10.5.7 at approximately 10:00PM EST on May 12, 2009 a mere 5 hours after it was released. Perhaps I need to wait until tomorrow when they wake up and realize that the digital signature is incorrect…… whoops!

After update, cannot send email through Optonline mail service (using Mail). All other settings, router, etc. are correct. Can receive mail, and can send mail through my iPhone, so everything else is OK. As yet unresolved. On phone with Apple now.

Actually caught a fault. I upgraded from Tiger to Leopard using the Leopard upgrade disk, not a full delete and install. Seems I had a header issue stemming from a permission error. I popped in an original Leopard disk to try to repair, got all sorts of errors. Seems you have to use the Leopard update disk to repair, good to know.

When Snow Leopard comes out I will do a full wipe and install. Actually that reminds me, I need to get a new larger hard drive for my mbp. Do they offer a 500GB sata yet?
