Palm and Sprint announcing Pre availability May 19th in the WSJ?
We just got a tip from a very proven tipster who informed us that Palm and Sprint were set to make a big announcement in the Wall Street Journal on May 19th. They said that there’s a very good chance of Palm and Sprint announcing the Pre release date then. Confusing, eh? Well, if we were betting boys, our money would be on Tuesday the 19th. We will soon see!
I heard last week from a Best Buy associate that Sprint stores were going to get the phone a few weeks before them. The May 19th date would play into that plan.
diddo… i was pretty much money in the bank for palm and sprint….i was all set to get this phone the moment it was released but since palm and sprint decided to take so long i figure i might as well just wait to see what the new iPhone is going to be like…
I hope the Pre comes out before my birthday June 15th. This is my early birthday present to myself.

if the Pre showed up on best buy’s inventory for the 7th …it would make sense to me that Sprint should have it out at their stores before then. i hope the announcement expected for release date this 19th would be for the end of may/early june giving them at least a week ahead of apple’s wwc.
to be honest though, i don’t know why we (even i have these thoughts) have to feel like Palm and Sprint should deliver before the expected new iphone. The more Pre detials that are exposed show us how well thought of has the device been. i think we should give Palm and Sprint a lil more credit. they have a great innovative product!! other phone companies should be the ones feeling threatened!!
The Pre will always be a wanna be iPhone, will fail miserably and the key board blows as with all Palm phones!
I was on Sprint tech support for a while ironing out a problem with one of my children’s phones.
I casually asked when the Pre would be availalbe, and the rep said mid-June, but would not nail down an actual day.
yea i know. so whats so good about being a premiere anyways i really dont see any benefits lol
I have a friend who works for Sprint service Center here in Oklahoma City which will be the only call center for the Pre he told me the release date will be no later than JUNE 8th!!!
Great! Only 1 more week until I say BYE BYE VERIZON for not having any decent smart phones….

The person who says that Palm keyboards “blow”, to use his intelliagent word, obviously hasn’t used one. I had a palm phone and the keyboard blows away the instinct keyboard for typing. I could type three times as fast and much more accurate on the palm phone. Please make sure that you know what you are talking about when adress issues.

I’m starting to believe Sprint/Palm want to to have a face-off with the new iPhone, there’s no reason not to, at least, let us know how much money we’ll be spending. Sprint did this with the Instinct, letting leaks of prices of it leaking $200 and $250 before settling on $130. That was done because the iPhone was subsidized, maybe they want to see what the next one’s price will be
I put my name on a ‘release date’ email list on sprint.com. I just received an email from them for a contest to win a Palm Pre, with 1 year everthing service, and the cool recharger. It says the contest ends May 18th. So that means it’ll hit the streets soon after I hope.
I have one now and as a tester I must say this is the best pda phone ever!
i have been interested in this phone as soon as it was announced and am still interested in it. In fact i am planning on switching over from verizon to sprint just to get this phone.
Glad to see some haven’t given up because the phone wasn’t released right after the rumors started in January
One of my clients (computer repairs) is pretty high up in the sprint food chain. Even he wasn’t disclosed the release date of the phone. He said it was guaranteed to be out in the next 4 weeks, and that he will only know more after taking a non-disclosure class O.o Get psyched tho, because the pre is on its way

Guess the ‘ninja’ has been removed. I did see a full page iPhone ad in the WSJ this AM though…
I really hope a new generation of digital cell phone come up with two webcam on the back to take picture only & video webcam at fromt ready to have a video conference service…..thank you
