T-Mobile’s Walmart roadmap: BlackBerry 8520 launching in July?

We just got our hands on an internal T-Mobile roadmap that is specifically for Walmart stores. This indicates what devices Walmart will carry, when, and at what price. Lucky for us, there’s some good stuff on here! Starting off is the BlackBerry 8520 — a device that’s not too new to us. What is new however, is that the launch date seems to be much earlier than reported. How does July sound? How does $78 for pricing sound with a drop to $48 a few months later? Thought so! While we get the rest of the goodies together, take a look at the first actual computer image of the BlackBerry 8520 after the break!

That’s perfect. As soon as my contract end, and I can get a new line, and get mine for cheaper on a new contract.

I’m not too happy about the introduction of this model, I wanted T-Mobile to push out a 3G Berry……although I’m relieved to hear that the Bold will be hitting T-Mobile this August…

It’s just an old image I believe… 100% optical trackpad when it launches.

Wait what? I’m confused thought the 8520 was going to be the start of the “BlackBerry In A Box” concept, guess not.

Cut BG some slack dudes. Look at the picture, it has “Stricly Confidential” and “T-Mobile” clearly watermarked in it. BG isn’t saying this is what a 8520 will look like, it’s what TMobile is saying it will look like. Since the device isn’t even announced from RIM, no surprise the picture T-Mobile is sending out isn’t of the real thing.

This is great news. I’ll probably end up just getting my brother this BlackBerry instead of a 8900 since he isn’t too particular on what phone he has as long as it’s a BlackBerry and has a qwerty keyboard.

I might just get the 8900 for myself now… ;)

This phone BLOWS! I get all the “optical trackball” hype but come on! No GPS and the screen is a downgrade from the 8900. Anyone who would get this in-lieu of the 8900 for any other reason then price is crazy. My contract is up in november and I will be gettin the 8900 if nothing new is on the horizon by then. Im waiting for tmo and rim to get their sh*t together and release a 3G bb already!!!

If the phones too cheap for you then don’t get it. It’s a great BlackBerry for people not looking to spend the $ for the more expensive models

Huh I just noticed that this contradicts the other roadmap that got leaked.

On the other one the Bigfoot was the replacement for the G1 when it EOLd. Here they’ve got the two side by side.

So I notice that everyone creams their panties everytime theres a new blackberry coming out, but aside from a few minor cosmetic differences, they all look exactly alike!

    Wheres the fun in that??
