Nokia’s alleged next touchscreen handset, the 5900 XpressMusic, gets pictured

We’re going to go out on a limb here and say there’s a very, very good chance this is fake, but images of a handset reported to be Nokia’s next touchscreen Symbian smartphone have just surfaced. The source is in China — land of less-than-authentic handsets — so definitely tread with caution. That said, you’re looking at images of what is reported to be Nokia’s successor to the 5800 XpressMusic… The 5900 XpressMusic. Could this be the rumored capacitive touchscreen refresh that had been rumored a while back? Specs are limited for the time being but the source claims a 3.5 inch touchscreen and a 5 megapixel camera are on board along with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a kickstand. The source also reports a possible lack of 3G which, if true, would definitely be a pretty good indication that the handset is indeed fake. Hit the jump for more shots.

Its been pointed out that the memory card flap says T-flash, which isn’t a term that Nokia would likely use.

    Its a knock off.

let’s hope. It looks a little nicer than the 5800. Maybe a bit thinner too. I’d be interested. It looks a lot nicer then most of the faux Chinese handsets. But then again I’m viewing this on my phone so current me if I’m wrong. Ha

I used to be a Nokia Rep and personally when they send us the N96 about a half year before it came out, I thought the kickstand was a joke. the 5800 has a stand included and thats fine, I would never use it anyway.

I would like a nicer shell on the 5800 and this looks much thinner too. Just thinking about the lack of it not having 3G just makes me cringe.

it’s a fake one, nicely done by chinese phone maker. don’t believe me? look at the flash part near the camera, it’s loudspeaker, not a flash, higher end nokia has it, then why this one doesn’t has flash? instead of replacing it with speaker near the camera? so i am 1000% sure it’s a fake one.

Take a close look at the first pic. The name on the phone is “NOKLA”. That “L” instead of the “I” is a common tactic of these pirates. It’s bogus.
