TweetGenius for BlackBerry: it’s war on the Twitter streets
For those of you who haven’t yet fainted after reading the title, we have something extra special to share with you. It is a new BlackBerry Twitter application called TweetGenius — yes, it’s something that my team has cooked up, and we think the world of it. Dossy Shiobara, BlackBerry developer extraordinaire and myself have worked countless hours on bringing this application from a concept to a full-fledged Twitter communication tool. Up until now there have been a bunch of new Twitter clients popping up (UberTwitter, SocialScope, etc.) that have all missed that BlackBerry feel—the thing that every BlackBerry application is supposed to be have. You know, that let’s show off what a BlackBerry can do type of deal. We think we’ve created something this fabulous and past all the sexy visual effects (oh man, that *poof* effect is addicting), this is an application that works and works really well. It’s chock full of features — sending your GPS location, uploading pictures, unread tweet counters, keyboard shortcuts — and we’re now ready to soft-launch it. As of this moment, TweetGenius is available to purchase for a nominal fee for the BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Curve 8900 devices. Don’t feel left out though, it is only a matter of days before we launch support for the BlackBerry Storm, BlackBerry Curve 83xx and BlackBerry 88xx! Take a look at the short video sneak peak above, check out the application on the TweetGenius website, and more importantly, let us know what you think! Your TweetGenius experience is something we will take very seriously and we will incorporate as much user feedback as humanely possible in future updates. And hey, give us a little credit–We had over 50 testers and the application never leaked — ironic, eh?

For those experiencing the lag, what model of BlackBerry are you using? I am using a Curve 8900 and experience some lag in the tweet stream, as well as sometimes with typing. BG was using a Bold and it seemed pretty smooth. I have spoken with a couple other 8900 users and they are experiencing lag, as well.
Finally, a reason to get a twitter id, I purchased it today for the Storm, I willing to save a few dollars and wait for the final product.
Already sent this message to support but like I mentioned, I have been getting an incorrect username and password message when i try to log back in after i mistakenly hit logout on the options page. i know for a fact that my creds are correct. i love the app so far but being shut out of it because of this error is really really frustrating me. HELP!
Anon, I have 8900 and yes I am experiencing the lag as well. Noticed that last night right after I purchased the app. However, this morning it was a tiny bit faster. Wish it would be much snappier and hope that this will get modified asap.
I removed it for now and will stick with SocialScope v9.5. It is snappier on my 8900, has a smaller footprint and has all the features I need: search; follow/unfollow; groups; Facebook integration; linking of twitter users to contacts)
Ok so I downloaded it on my curve, and it is not allowing me to sign on. Continuously tells me I have the wrong pword – I’m not an idiot and have not 4gotten it but somehow it wont let me sign in…any1 have that problem?
I installed and downloaded…but it wont update…anyone having this issue?
Don’t even think twice about paying for this app (esp. since it’s 1/2 off right now). Just downloaded it and my quick review: it rocks!!
Del, yes I have login problems. It’s sooo frustrating. Am on Twitterberry for now.

Awesome app! The best Twitter app to date. BUT, it does have some lag which I’m looking forward to going away with future updates.
Paypal it up….
Maybe I am just sucking on the BGR teet, but as soon as this is available by paypal and for the Curve I’m on it. Ubertweet hasn’t updated for 8 days and Tweetberry makes me want to shoot myself in the head. Why the big deal about being charged? As other’s have said if you have a Blackberry and can’t afford it maybe you need a RAZR. Even if it sucks I’m willing to take the chance.
Not to mention you are supporting a site that you come to for valuable information or at least to flame iPhone owners.
Can pearl haz it?
BG obviously realizes his app is utter garbage or he would’ve included a free trial. No twitter app is worth any amount of money, especially this one.
Use ubertwitter or socialscope. They know how to gain happy, and loyal customers.
The icon notification of how many tweets has gone missing. It hasn’t let me know all day. Very wierd.
So I guess I jumped the gun and didn’t notice that the version for the older Curve is not out yet. When it does come out, will I have to re download? Or should I expect an OTA update?
all of you guys who are complaing why dont you make your own app
Well when you pay for an app, you expect it to be functioning great right off the bat.
I love ubertwitter although it has flaws..but it’s free.
pay to post to a free website?

I love the app so far. thanks much for a great product!

Add push notifications via RIM’s new api to this app and that would make it the best blackberry twitter client ever. Maybe the best on any platform, but I don’t have experience with twitter on any other platforms, so…
I like the push notifications idea for twitter mentions and direct messages, and maybe even custom search terms too.
i am no longer getting notifications on the home screen for new tweets, which is the only reason why i purchased this
I had uninstall it today – the lag was killing me. It will be a great app once they work out all of the bugs. Until then Uber will work just fine.
I wish the had a 30 day trial. The $5 isn’t killing me, but I’m a little upset at the fact that I paid to be a beta tester.
That said, their support gets back to you crazy fast.
this app is the bomb .does any one no if i can put a ring tone for my new tweets
