LogMeIn Ignition lets you control your PC from your BlackBerry Storm

While WES might have turned out to be a wash as far as new handsets are concerned, there’s still plenty of awesome new stuff down here in sunny Orlando, FL. New to the scene is LogMeIn Ignition, an app for the Storm which allows Windows and Mac users to access and control their computers on the go. Just like its iPhone app cousin, LogMeIn Ignition has the ability to pan and zoom, a full-QWERTY keyboard and the ability to store login details for multiple computers along with necessary passwords with 256-bit SSL encryption. LogMeIn’s Ignition looks to be a definite winner for those who are looking to access their computers while on the move. Look for it to make its retail debut sometime in the near future, but for now you can sign up to learn more and be notified as soon as you can join the beta program by hitting the read link.

I think you’re missing the whole point here… It’s special because you can do it on your phone. I haven’t heard of many people who can control their PC from their cell phone.

By your logic, getting a Blackberry at all would be dumb because you can check your e-mail on your PC for free.

The WHOLE point here is “LOGMEIN” and if you have not used it you have not a clue to how great it is. It is second to NONE as far as remotely connecting to workstations and servers. Give it a shot today!

Yep, you can do it for free using the free Logmein client from a WM phone. Guess that old, clunky OS has some advantages after all.

thanks for chiming in kids. there is always another way…
its just like people paying to upgrade their iPod touch and paying $10 or $20 to do it, when there is a simple and easy free way to do it. if you want it, you can find it…

LogMeIn on my AT&T Tilt and previous WinMo phones is one of the MAIN things I miss having switched to a BlackBerry Bold.

I used to pay the yearly subscription for LogMeIn Pro but cancelled it when I switched to BB in protest of them not having any method for me to access my PC from my BB.

I used this application on my iPhone to manage all of my corporate servers. It is second to none and the BEST experience you can get in in the remote admin of PC’s and servers from your mobile.

If you’ve never used Lomein I would highly suggest giving them a try.

This sounds interesting. I’d like to see a non-Storm bb version.

Currently I am using the Mobile Admin application from Rove to manage my servers and workstations from my Curve. It has a great set of features including VNC, but costs big bucks. If there was an Ignition application for the Curve, I’d be all over it.

Run my mac from my storm? Why don’t they figure out how to run my storm from my storm first and then work on a better sync of my storm with my mac before they allow me to run my mac from my storm.

most applications that aren’t basic will just crash the storm
