BlackBerry Curve 8900 making its way to AT&T

OK everybody, just calm down. We got word from one of our ninjas that the BlackBerry Curve 8900 will finally be arriving at AT&T stores some time in June. For those who were hoping for a miracle or at least a little something special added on to compensate you for the handset’s tardiness, sorry, it’ll basically be a mirror of the T-Mobile version. The AT&T version will however have the same themes as the Bold 9000. Woo. No word on pricing yet but it should be around the same as its cousin on T-Mobile’s line-up. For those of you aching for a new BlackBerry but who feel like the Bold might be a little on the larger, heavier side, the wait won’t be much longer.

It may be too late. I’m using an 8100 Pearl on AT&T now and have 5 bars in my home. So while it maybe fun and fast for the browser, I find myself wanting to jump to Verizon for the 9630 Tour. In Iowa, there is probably more CDMA coverage than GSM anyway.
Err, ‘it’ being the wi-fi.
Tour where are u? Yep moving to verizon too! ATT is getting really sucky in NYC
I agree with Gino, im a storm owner and cant wait for the tour. The tour will be the best blackberry ever. at&t’s service is atrocious here in NYC. Verizon will also land the 8930 Jupiter as well.. Think about about it every carrier has to have a new curve model.
Will it have a similar keyboard and specs? I wonder if ATT will get the 8520 this summer as well? The 8520 some interesting changes. I am torn between the Curve,a Bold( after a price drop) and waiting to see the 8520. Anybody have an 8520 yet? BG? Any updates soon?
@ ROB
no bro, i think the 8520 will land on t-mobile along with the BlackBerry Driftwood
Yay a 3G-less Blackberry when 4G is around the corner!! No thanks.
@ BoogerEater
LOl thats true
Yeah, thanks ATT – way too little, way too late. Where was this in October? February?
My 8100’s contract is up in June – and I am leaving for VZW. It is decided. I do not want an Iphone, and that is clearly the only smartphone ATT gives a crap about.
Hey Ritchie,
Why T-Mobs? They got the curve first. Is Rim saturating the market to combat the imminant Iphone 2 release? So Att customers waited this long for a standard 8900. Buzz kill!
@ ROB
well i thinks its coming to t-mobile because hence the XX20.. look at T-mos berry line up Bro-
8120 pearl, 8220 pearl flip, 8320 curve, and 8820
100% done with at&t once the Tour drops. Absolutly terrible terrible service in and around NYC and Queens. Plus like somebody said, who in the world wants to shell out $$$ for a 2G device when 4G is right around the corner. at&t should have shipped this out months ago, like Rogers did. Not wait until Summer 09, when VZW will be droppin the sought after Tour.
curve 8900 already with rogers wireless few months ago
@ ritchie,
Thanks for the info- makes sense. So we will see the 8520 in 2012 on ATT.Great.
@ ROB
no prob i dont know and dont care lol, i know the tour will be worth the money besides Verizon will land the Apex(the pearl flip, the tour, hopefully a storm 2, an iphone hopefully and the roll out of 4G, so its going to be good in Verizon land… = )
cant wait for WES… i wanna see live pics of the Tour running on Verizon
i would like the jupiter 8930 on Verizon
******* i would like to add the jupiter 8930 on Verizon*******
I must be the only Person here that loves att I live on long island service is great on my Bold 3g all the time plus I have a bunch of smartphones and switching the sim card is easy. I think att is dropping it in june along with the new iphone to kinda slow down the number of people that would leave for sprint and the pre. Like it or not the 8900 is pretty speedy on edge. Only downside to no 3g is no voice and data at the same time.
Wow that’s sooo cool! The 8900?!! Yeah I’m def going to go from a 3G Bold to a 2G 8900 when that phone been around for months! I got an idea for something new…how bout a blackberry that is touch screen AND has a physical KB!then well talk…F a 8900, F any non 3G phone in the year…ummm what is it now?? Or yeah that’s right 2009.
for those of us more interested in a business device…the 8900 is great. smaller, better battery life, great screen for legibility. ultimately, that’s what I want from a BB. might actually make me switch from my Q9h.
The TOUR doesn’t have wifi

i am aware that the tour doesnt have wifi, i dont need wifi anyway… the tour will screw at&t because a lot of customer complaining that the Bold is too big, to this and that and watch them switch from at&t to Verizon so wait for the Tour guys…i know i am
@ Jeff,
I have been on Cingular/ATT for about ten years. I live in the Burbs outside Philly and have great service. I think ATT is great. I have had great experiences with their customer service and don’t have any issues w/ dropped calls. So no issue with the Deathstar!
I have to agree with everyone here… the bold is too big and the curve is too small, plus ATT service is pretty terrible. I’ll wait for the best of everything: the 3G 9630 Tour!
now if only they would bring the bold to tmo all would be right in my world, or if i could find an unbranded bold for a nice price…hmmm
