Slacker for BlackBerry hits 1 million downloads; free Slacker Radio Plus giveaway!
There are a few big players out there when it comes to customized Internet radio but lately, Slacker seems to be shining brighter than the rest. This past week, the company announced two major milestones: First, Slacker now has well over 2 million songs in its library. For comparison sake that’s about four times the size of Pandora’s library. Beyond that, in less than four months since the app was released, Slacker’s BlackBerry offering has already hit the 1 million download mark. Wow. It took just over 16 weeks to reach a million downloads and support for station caching and stereo Bluetooth no doubt helped it get there as quickly as it did. So how is Slacker celebrating the occasion? By hooking a few BGR readers up, that’s how. The Slacker app for BlackBerry is completely free of course, as is the standard Slacker Radio service. Slacker also offers a premium service however — Slacker Radio Plus — that provides several benefits over the standard option. Radio Plus features include unlimited song skips, unlimited song requests, complete lyrics, no audio or banner ads and access to the Slacker Mini Player (Windows XP SP2 or greater required). As affordable as the service is at $3.99 per month, a true slacker might have a little trouble coming up with the dough. I would like to have the Best Radio App on my BlackBerry. I have it and is the best and fastes Radio App for BlackBerry. Last week someone broke my car radio antenna so I can’t heard any radio station in my car, but thanks to Slacker Radio I can hear the lastes hits on my car speakers when I connect my BlackBerry to my radio. If I win the Slacker Radio Plus it would be awesome and I will never but the car radio antenna, at least for 1 year.

I have spent the last month of my job drawing pictures on my desk. With a permanent marker. Not only am I running out of desk space, but pretending to work is becoming quite a job! I would ask for another task, but I enjoy watching people work so hard around me. However, they can get quite loud sometimes and I wish they would act a little more Miracle Worker as I ruin office property. I really would like this upgrade so I can tune out the annoying work noises going around me daily. Thanks!

I am a slacker that doesn’t slack when Slacker is playing on my Blackberry. But I do tend to slack during the commercials so if I had Premium Slacker I could stay motivated and then I would be a productive Slacker.

I’m such a slacker that when my preschool aged daughter learned the Macarena in school this week and wanted to hear the song at home, instead of getting off the couch to get it from our computer, I reached over for my Storm and entered it into Slacker. They had a Sesame Street version and we ended up listening to kids’ music for over an hour. Unlimited skips would have been nice!

I just switched over from Pandora. I enjoy jamm’n out Slacker and my bluetooth headphones at work. They help me look busy and focused! ha ha.
I work in lots of VZW stores every week. I use Slacker as I drive from store to store. When I arrive at the stores I always talk to the blackberry owners about apps. I tell them Slacker is essential.
I am a true slacker. I slack everywhere. In the car, in my room, while im mowing the yard, working out, heck even in my buddies boat!! I have personally converted over a dozen crack heads to slacker… I think I have earned the upgrade!!!!

Slacker has been a life-saver. My company blocks any and all streaming fun at work. I am forced to sit quietly in a cube for 8 hours a day and stare straight ahead (people in jail have more fun). When I slip those earphones in, that amazing stereo sound takes me to another place. My happy place. What has slacker for bb done for me? It has stopped me from going postal on everyone I work with. Thank you slacker.
