I am a telus client the service is good so far the only drawback to this company is that they are so slow at getting new smartphones! As for rim don’t even bother with blackberry’s they are not what we wher shown on tv it all a mather of money to them! Not quality but quantity!

The very reps from the Flagship TELUS store told me that if you unlock it, you can have it work in Canada. Though naturally, the GSM service just like the world edition BB and the BB storm was locked for Canada.

The mention of this phone being a world compatible phone means that this phone can access GSM networks all over the world.
Which means, you have your GPRS and it skips edge for 3G. It’s a quad/quad band phone because it includes; GSM 850/1800/1900/2100 HSPA 850/1800/1900/2100 to work in both Canada and Eurasia on HSPA networks as well.

telus has recently told me that their inventory will be coming in on this monday he 22th of june and that i will be reciving me phone on wed the 24th…so maybe well hopefully it happens

How could this be a GSM phone when TELUS is upgrading their network to add HSPA – NOT GSM? The new network looks like its going to be HSPA along with CDMA, which means you can’t use your GSM PHONE (nor can others who come for the olympics)

This will be a CDMA / GSM phone because by 2010 Telus will have upgraded it’s network in any places – specifically Vancouver, BC as the Olympics are going to bring a ton of world customers into the city and GSM is necessary… they also don’t want to foresake their customers from the future that is…

Telus had the storm before bell. HTC touch also came out to telus before bell…so the last two major handsets from last year came through telus before bell..there were probably more before and during that too

Yes LTE is the way to go, but with EVDO and its over 100 million plus customers in both canada and u.s. is a force to be reckoned with!

So much that Apple is drooling at that Market. Telus is soon to release HSPA, Verizon is ready to release LTE and with Qualcomm’s single chipset design that incorporates GSM/CDMA/UMTS/EVDO/HSPA/LTE why not?

Both HTC and RIM are making tons of profit quarter and quarter because they not forssaken CDMA/EVDO in north america. Can you say the same for useless nokia and sony ericsson?

To everyone who keeps saying that LTE is “coming:” Yes, it is coming, but whatever timeframe the carriers announce, please add at least two years to that date. If they say 2010, that means 2012. Bank it.

So if you’re going to wait for LTE before you purchase your next handset, forget it.

Rogers is the most ridiculous provider. They tried to open up a shop here in town and they had to shut it down after they realized people had to drive 1 1/2 hours to Calgary to get service. HSPA and Rogers can suck a fat one.

CDMA (Code Division…) is actually a superior technology to GSM (TDMA – Time Division…). Don’t believe me? The evolution of 3G GSM (HSPA and still TDMA) is Wideband CDMA (WCDMA).

LTE is not a technology; it is a general descriptive for an evolution of mobile technology.

Oh, and I’m eagerly awaiting this hot little number.
