Motorola Clutch i465 for Boost Mobile gets official
It won’t be winning any beauty pageants any time soon but Boost Mobile users waiting for a relatively rugged QWERTY handset will soon have a new option in the Motorola Clutch i465. Sprint and Boost obviously recognize that messaging is a bit of a hot topic these days and as such, we can expect the carrier to start rolling out a few QWERTY handsets to ensure its text-hungry customers are covered. First up, for better or worse, is the Clutch. It’s styling is certainly polarizing but love it or hate it, Moto managed to pack in a fairly decent feature set (relatively speaking). Highlights include Push to Talk of course, threaded SMS and MMS, POP3 email support, Bluetooth and a VGA camera. No, it’s not going to knock your socks off but relative to the rest of Boost’s lineup, this new Moto is an ok option if it’s released at a decent price point. The Clutch i465 will be available in Q2 of this year.

I love how the screen is so small, contacts and messages are abbreviated. That is just pretty ugly.
That thing looks awesome. Think I’ll wait to get Boost until it comes out.

If Motorola keeps this up they can kiss their entire mobile division goodbye. That is one hideous handset!
Before you say the phone is ugly, look at the network and the other phones on it.
Plus this has another advantage to it, it is partically mil-spec so if you drop it from 20 feet it will still work.

Im willing to be open to the pointed keyboard design. It might allow for more direct presses to the letters. My only problem is the color. Why not Gray with a silver keyboard or All Silver or sumthin.
I kno Boost has delays with texts sometimes but for the most part they come when you send them. Maybe 1 in 12 texts come late for me.
This will probably go somewhere between the $100 i776 and the $300 i9. So if its under $125 it might sell good. Considering your only other options for a Camera Phone on Boost Are Flip Phones.

i can not wait till it comes out. i hope its not more than the i9. i was about to buy a blackberry to work on boost but im gonna wait till this comes out now.
The phone is pretty ugly but at least its nicer looking than all the other phones boost has, and least they finally have a phone with a full keyboard, but wat they really need is a touch screen phone with a QWERTY keyboard just not so ugly

Boost phones are too expensive already. They need to reduce the cost to get more customers.
Boostmobile needs to make better looking phones if they want us to buy. Seriously Sprint, AT&T etc. Now they make you want to sign up for the phones…
I just picked one up from American Wireless, I can’t wait to check them out. They said it should be shipping in about 2-3 weeks, but really glad I pre-ordered them. Last time my i9 was on back order for a month, nice to see that they are finally taking pre-orders for popular devices. It was only $120, so not sure why anyone would buy the i9 at this point with the price factor.
I agree compared to Nextel Boost other phones this one is great! Finally Boost has a keyboard phone. I just got the i776 but I still have plastic on it Im waiting for this one to come out.
don’t buy the blackberry i found out it won’t work like it should for boost far as texting and using the web the only thing that will work is the two way and the phone calls the have to work out some bugs thats why they came out with the i465 i did some research on the blackberry i wanted the same phone.
You can use Opera Mini to get free internet and SMS is useless since you have email and Gtalk and all that crap.

I’m pleased and need unlimited everything! Business, personal and KIDs demand that I text! Can’t imagine texting without an alpha keypad. Wanted to switch to Boost but phones didn’t cut it. This a recession treat….
I have always been fun of boostmobile. This plan is great but you still have some hidden fees. I just purchased the i776 and I have been waiting for the i465 clutch. I am a little disappointed because I was hoping it had a micro sd slot. The price is fair, but if they want to stay in the game Virgin mobile have it going on they have a phone like the scoop/rant for 99.99. Step up your game and come better than that. I will try the phone….
