Second WebOS handset dubbed Palm Eos, headed to AT&T
It looks like that flurry of rumors and our exclusive image courtesy of Captain Blurrycam lit a fire under someone this morning because we now have what are reportedly full specs for Palm’s follow up to the Pre. Say hello to the Volkswagen Eos… Err, Palm Treo Pro… No wait, Palm Eos. Yeah, that’s it. Specs are as follows:
- Quad-band GSM, 850/1900MHz HSDPA
- 111 x 55 x 10.6mm
- 2.63-inch 320 x 400 capacitive display
- 4GB storage
- Price: $349 (pre-rebate)
- Camera: 2 megapixel fixed focus digital camera and flash / video capture
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 2.1 w/ A2DP and EDR, USB 2.0 via micro USB
- Removable 1150 mAh battery (4 hours 3G talk time)
- Messaging: SMS, MMS (picture and video only), integrated IM client
- Contact sync with AT&T Address Book
- MediaNet
- Cellular Video
- Email: POP3, IMAP4, and EAS support
- A-GPS
- Audio: WAV, MP3, AAC, AAC+ ringtones
- Video Playback: MPEG4, H.264, H.263
It might be named after a VW and styled after the Treo Pro but if this rumor pans out, it could be the first GSM handset rocking WebOS to land in the States — Pre imports aside.
We will just have to wait and see on this one. It looks nice, hopefully the price is right.

Sprint can rest easy–the Pre has better specs than Eos and by the time Pre exclusivity in US ends, Sprint will have a new Wimax-equipped WebOS device.
But I have a feeling Sprint and Big Red will be rocking a CDMA Eos as well. Much like the current Centro, I wouldn’t expect Eos to be carrier-exclusive for very long.
But that begs the question–what exclusive device are Palm and Verizon cooking up together? Surely the largest US carrier is a candidate for their own exclusive…
I think this is not good for Sprint. size matters. The small form factor of this device with 99% of what Pre has makes it quite strong competition for the Pre.
Palm is wise not to rely solely or even mostly on Sprint. Also Verizon and ATT have massive amounts of cash to advertise their Palm devices, Sprint cash position is very bad.
I dont wanna hear it. Whenever a webos device on sprint is mentioned you guys bash it. But now a webos device is mentioned on At&t you guys are willing to give it a chance. So yea I was being sarcastic when I said Eos lovers but the bias is ridiculous. And Im far from a fan boy, you’ll never see me initiate convo about a carrier unless the post is about them. Sprint has alot of problems the main one is nextel. Everything that made nextel big before the sprint took over is what killed it. No 3g and no slim phones, once upon a time nextel’s where status symbols. After the over saturation of boost phones they became anything but that. Sprint has terrible marketing and cs, but those have improved greatly as of late. But as a customer I care about service, phone, and price and in southern cal NO ONE else can even come close. I kno some people like iphones, sidekicks, g1s, and some areas (mostly rural) VZW kills sprint. So when people ask me about what carrier to get I only recommend sprint when that’s best for them. But some of you guys are so biased its obvious your pissed your gettin ripped off. So when I call you out dont get your panties in a bunch. Sprint gambled on nextel and if they die because of it that’s their fault. But I will still have more uncrippled phones than VZW and better service than AT&T for alot cheaper.
@ Verizon Guy, it took a year plus for them to get the Centro. It may not be as long a wait but it will be one
Crappy specs. What’s to like?
“Crappy specs?” Then Pre has crappy specs as well compared to most high end devices for this year.
Specs include things like screen size where Pre comes up short compared to most current devices.
Specs include things like battery life where the Pre looks like it will be very poor.
@whoster69, what about the specs is crappy? @Cedric, this isn’t about the Pre but that screen size thing is sort of weak since is bigger than and no battery life specs have been published running multiple apps will kill any battery
I like palm phones and the (old) operating system. Palm is a small company that tries harder. Looking forward to EOS on ATT.
Another qwerty keyboard, come on that just takes up screen space. Of course this is arendering and probably not the actual phone, not a good fake either, easy to tell its CG. I liked the pre in that the qwerty was there but a slide out. atleast at&t is getting a webos phone, but I won’t get one til it has wifi.
That phone looks cheap! If the Pre wasn’t coming out I’d just stick with my 755p then buy that cheap looking thing in the pic. With that phone pictured above I don’t think Sprint has anything to worry about. I think that the phone above will or should be marketed to the tween crowd just like the Centro.
