Palm’s next webOS device? Pre Centro?
One of our ninjas just hit us up with the above photo… they said it would be Palm’s next webOS device, the rumored Centro-esque handset. No specs or anything, just a “Fall” release date. Sorry for the blurry and small photo, but it’s legit! What you guys think?

damn. when i read this i thought it was april fools for a sec. That’s a bold’s chrome bezel for one, a pasted palm keyboard for two, and horrible photoshop for three. dont believe me, look at the bottom by the BGR symbol. its a bold! this story is a lie

I remember back in the beginning of the year when BGR posted the end-of-life document, they had the end of the Centro in favor of the Centro 2. So the next device might very well be the sequel.

Whether or not this is true who knows. But hopefully there will be more then one WebOS device before year’s end. And for all the Centro-slammers, I have one and love it. No problems with the keyboard. Will keep it until the Pre/WebOS takes off. Never been an early-adopter, and truth be told, my Centro does everything I need a smartphone to do.
If you don’t like a phone, why diss everyone who has it? To each his/her own. I personally would never own an iPhone of a BlackBerry. But I wouldn’t say those phones suck. What ever works for you. For me, right now it’s a Centro. The only thing I really don’t like about it is AT&T, but that’s another story…
So WHO gets this in the fall? Id b excited but the drawback of the Centro was that painfully small keyboard. Slappin WebOs on it isnt gonna change that fact.

I think that the form factor shown is the MOST obvious one that Palm will come up with next.
All touch wont work – the form factor will probably harm sales of the Pre more, and goes away from the basic Palm ideology.
A thinner, smaller, cheaper Centro-style phone is the best “other” form that’ll bring in the green for Palm.
So I think thats a very obvious photoshop job – even if it isn’t, thats the ONLY option for the future Palm phone. They can’t come up with anything much more different than that.

That is clearly just a Blackberry Bold or Curve 8900 whose screen has been stretched out via PhotoShop or something like that. Come on, BGR. You guys can do better than this, can’t you?!
You said everything I wanted to say BlankReg! I love my centro, I get that it’s not for everybody, but it works perfect for me. I have no problems with the keys.
I don’t understand why many people seem to think that everybody has to hate it just because they do. I didn’t buy it because I had limited choices or it was the only thing I could get. I spent awhile making my decision, I really did want the centro, and I am very happy with my choice.
I am hanging on to it until I can get a new palm, the pre looks great to me, but who knows I may even like the new centro even better. Either way I’m sure I’ll still miss my centro.
oh, and I agree with most the comments here that this looks nothing like a new centro.

Looks kinda long… I wish Palm would make a keyboard with larger keys. I’ve used the Centro before and I had such a hard time trying to type a text on it. I don’t even want to imagine trying to send an email…
