Verizon to push out a new OS update for the Storm?
We’re not too sure how much truth there is behind this one, but we just got a tip from a Verizon ninja who received an email memo regarding a much needed OS update for the BlackBerry Storm 9530. The memo mentions that OS 4.7.0.141 “is here” and that customers would be receiving alerts during the day telling them to upgrade. We haven’t been able to confirm this yet, but this ninja has proven himself to be a reliable source of VZW information in the past. Oddly, we have yet to come across a leaked copy of OS 4.7.0.141 but we are aware that RIM is already working on OS 4.7.0.201 and greater for the 9530. Perhaps this might be one of those rare instances where a carrier beats the leakers to the punch. We shall see.
for some reason my .132 says that it is .184 or something like that. so unless that is the problem I dont think it is out. crackberry and bgr will say so if it is official.
I can say that .141 is not out yet…Verizon is the testing stages of it and will be done by 05/06…If it gets approved then expect a push out by mid may. They were testing .131 but it was denied by Verizon. So hopefully this one gets the Big Red stamp of approval
Our corporate IT guys also confirmed .141 has been sent for testing. hopefully, this will be pushed down soon!
This BETTER be true, im on .122 now and I DONT like it. everytime i go to use the phone I have the hourglass in the middle ticking away! pain in the arse

How about an update for the Bold on AT&T??? .167 has been out without a single update for what feels like an eternity.
haha. right.. ill believe you about this “update” when its loaded onto my phone… someone should leak out the .2xx or just 5.0
Don’t hold your breath waiting for ATT. I have a bold as well and it amazes me still that the most stable version is .247 and is light years beyond .167. I don’t think ATT planned on supporting their devices after they released them, they seem happy enough to get suckers to pay $400 each.

Hey, I don’t care if you people think I am lying. I have it and you don’t. Part of the reason could be that I also work for VZW.
By the way, the camera works like it should, the speed of loading applications is fast, memory leaks are less and not a problem, the touchscreen is more responsive with less mistakes while typing, and voice quality is improved.

Hey Vern…Its not very hard to go to Options-About- Take a picture and send it to BGR. Screen shots speak louder than words. BTW..I work for VZW also.

I just connected the Storm to the Desktop Manager, and it “upgraded” the phone to 4.7.0.114. (Platform 4.0.0.136) I can post a screenshot, but don’t know how on this site.
Waiting for VZW to release an update is like getting kicked in the nuts every day.
