I cannot think of another reason. If I lived in Europe and traveled to the US for business, I'd never buy an HTC phone. Rumor has it that Sammy is going to give HTC some competition. Bout time. The only available umts spectrum to was 1700/2100mhz they the only carrier in the world which uses it ! So phone manufacturers cant benefit from economies of scale.
