First official Android netbook will run $250
There has been so much talk of an Android netbook for the past few months and a few people were even successful in running the OS on their own netbooks. This time talk gets a little more serious as a price tag has accompanied the latest news of a Google-based netbook. Skytone, maker of the Alpha 400, will soon be releasing the Android-powered Alpha 680. So far little is known about the unit other than the fact it will be smaller and lighter than ASUS Eee portables and it will make use of the 533 MHz ARM11 processor (similar to the one in the iPhone). So, if you’re a pretty big fan of Android and wondering when on Earth it will be released, Skytone is pushing to have the manufacturing process in gear within the next three months. If the company can stick to the $250 tag it’s aiming for, we’re thinking this could be a pretty decent competitor in the low-end netbook market.

1st!
2nd, that’s a great price for a low-end netbook that can run android… maybe not
Will it float?
Hopefully it floats cause android blows and I’m sure aq ton of people will throw it in the ocean…floating would make cleanup easier
1st’s get you nowhere in the world, its all about who you fuck to get to the top…
$250 FUCK YES
Umm ok?
Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?
I’m first in line !
250 seems very expensive. you can get a mini 9 for 200 and it’s a full OS
Smaller than an Eee, iPhone like processor, but $250? OS that hasn’t proved its mettle in a phone(although it has only been in one). Not seeing how they can charge that much.
@david thande- what is the point of blogging ‘1st’? am i missing something? because i’m pretty sure it looks lame not only to me, but everyone else when people do that. where is backbeat on this subject?
@Jakey
Don’t entice the Troll to come out from under his bridge…
And its fun…and makes you take the time to comment on it…..
Kinda high. I bought my Acer Aspire one for $239 at tiger direct and it came with xp. (I have win 7 on it now and it flys!)
@David Thande: Whats ‘fun’ about it? Its stupid and pointless. You’re obviously ‘not’ winning any fans over it. If you can’t add anything to the conversation, don’t bother.
Back to the subject though.
Giz has some pictures. I’m defiantly interested in it now:

I like the tablet option.
If you’re too lazy to start anything, you may get a reputation for patience
@david thande- so you are doing that just to get people to troll you? i’m with tande04 in wondering what is fun about it. it is pointless and lame. what does it add to the actual conversation? seems a bit pretentious to me…say what you want, but i’m sure that a majority of people here agree with me. you have every right to say “1st”. have fun with your “1st” comments. keep in mind, its only fun for you, and its quite annoying to everyone else…
If civility means ignoring the fact that we are also animals, then I want no part of it. ,
