AT&T offering refurbished HTC Fuze models for free
The high end Windows Mobile handset dubbed Fuze by AT&T is currently available on the website with a hefty $499 discount, bringing the price down to an even $0. Refurbished, that is. As always, the purchase of a refurbished phone at a basement price will require a 2–year contract and new activation. If you are in the market for a smartphone and don’t mind refurbs, this offer is definitely worth a second look as AT&T’s price smokes those offered by other carriers — $349 for a new Touch Pro with a 2-year Verizon Wireless contract, $299 for a new Touch Pro with a 2-year Sprint contract or $0 for a refurbished AT&T Fuze. Which would you choose?

Don’t waste your time. get an iphone or a bold.
I’d get the one on Sprint, cause I know I will not only pay less for my plan, but Ill also get to upgrade for less after 12 months, but mainly… If I buy 3G phones, there better be 3G service to match, Sprint has it, ATT doesn’t.
So yeah, 299 is worth it to me for better service.
So are you telling me this phone has a low resale value?

I’m carrying the HTC Touch Pro on Sprint’s network and I also paid a hefty $0 as an upgrade from the Mogul (not a refurb).
Maybe someone can answer this for me. This phone is so slow. Sliding between items sometimes works. Bringing up messages is slow, and switching sliding the keyboard out causes the phone to crawl and churn away trying to turn the freaking screen to landscape mode.. You could go get a cup of coffee between screens.
It seems unthinkable to me that such a high end device could perform so poorly. Save yourself the pain and get an iPhone or Bold.
Oh and it’s hilarious about how people worry about the 3g network when they are looking at buying an epic fail phone anyway. It’s windows mobile, it’s gonna take 45 seconds to open a browser window anyway. All the little edge/1x noobs are gonna already have the site pulled up on their blackberries before your POS can even open opera.
I said ANY 3G phone… I don’t care what OS it is…
So what Sprint network are you guys using? Here in Washington, outside the former headquarters even, not looking so good.
@chris
Go to ppcgeeks or xda-developers and check out the different roms they have for the phone. It made my Mogul/6800 usable. I’ve been running WinMo 6.5 for a while now.
I have both an iPhone and a Fuze and love them both :’-(
AT&T probably has a ton of refurbs because they had so many returns on the Fuze. I had one for two weeks and returned it. It’s virtually unusable without a custom ROM and I didn’t feel like spending days at XDA and voiding my warranty by flashing ROMs. I switched to an unlocked Treo Pro and couldn’t be happier. AT&T should be paying people to take the Fuze.
@chris i love guys like you. You people seem to think that you know it all about cel phones. Cant a person buy the phone they want without assholes like you calling them names???? JMO And yes i called u an ASSHOLE…love your mom
BGR is infested with crap like Chris and Zak.
Wait for tmobile touch pro 2 wait….. tmo doesn’t have 3g network up everywhere gonna be painfully slow just like g1 w edge network
i have had a sprint touch pro for weeks running good running great slight lag but thats why task manager is there for
I had the fuze and loved it. Its a little slow the way it comes from at&t, but once u flash a new rom from xda developers it flies! If u want a real pda phone that u can actually get stuff done with, without apple approving everything u do, get a fuze. If u want a toy and be able to download fart and burp apps to, get the iphone
had my Fuze for about two months now. i’ve gotten a few errors here and there, but nothing to complain about. no more than any other phone that i’ve had.
Iphone….bold…or go home.
Uhhhh… checking right now both as an upgrade (which I’m eligible for) and just to get a new phone/contract, its $249.99, not free…
at&t needs to bargin a fair contract for its employees. not sell out to corporate greed and sell out its customers to sub contractors with sub standard work.
I’m ridiculous for knocking a phone that requires you to flash custom roms to enable basic usability? I’m just trying to pursuade anyone thinking about getting this phone for free to think twice.
and wtf, I never called anyone buying any phone a name?
CWA_ATT…go complain somewhere else.
My mother has a touch Pro on Sprint. The plan, Performance of the phone, 3G and price beats At&t and Verizon hands down overall.
I may consider the touch pro 2 when its out on Sprint. The T-Mobile version will suck because their 3G isnt fully developed yet
no here under at&t will be fine. whats happening with them not bargaining a fair contract may affect you and countless others who read these posts. im just trying to get the word out. you dont have to read it if you dont want to.
