BlackBerry 9630 is the BlackBerry Tour?
We’re seriously going out on a limb here, but we’ve received word the BlackBerry 9630, the device we all know and love, will make its debut into the world as the BlackBerry Tour. Not even going to comment on the name, we’ll leave that up to you. Just know this is viciously unconfirmed, but hey, it sounds like something RIM would think is cool. Plus, wasn’t there rumblings about U2? Just sayin’…
P.S. That same tipster confirmed release of the device in “early summer”
UPDATE: Thanks to one of our awesome readers, they’ve just alerted us to the fact that www.blackberry9630.com (something RIM would obviously own) and www.blackberrytour.com both point to the same IP address. Additionally, they were both coincidentally registered on the same date. Welp, it looks like BlackBerry Tour it is!
My dad told me that he talked to his friend who works as a service trainer or something like that for Verizon. And he said that they are getting the Tour in June. So he deffinately acknowledged that it is going to be called the Tour and hopefull it will come out in June instead of July!
Who really gives a crap what they call it. Just give me an awesome BB that works great. Call it the pieceochit for all I care. You people need to get a life.
i was really hoping june it was going to come out but no one knows for sure. its driving me crazy cause this will be my first black berry so i aqm over excited!

Man this thing is sexy…I love its design, I just wish it had wifi like my bold does. But I’ve read reviews that it’s screen resolution isn’t as high as the bold’s or the storm’s. Hmmm, do I go with a 2nd blackberry and replace my Dare with this, or wait until the Storm 2 shows its fine self?! AHHHH Blackberry Madness!

The tour has the same screen resolution as the storm and the 8900.
If you want wifi or a touch screen device, you may want to check out the storm2 when it is announced/leaked.
Verizon will be the carrier of the blackberry tour. An associate confirmed it yesterday. The touris debuting in July.
Name does not mean anything, this phone will be great and I cannot wait for it. It needs to get here already. Verizon needs some good phone’s and I think this one will def be a good addition.

If the Tour is comning out with Verizon, then why does it say AT&T on it? If you look closely, you can see AT&T in the middle top.
Interesting point about the photo. That undoubtedly means that AT&T is finally dumping that crappy technology called GSM. Or not. The “Tour” is a cdma phone. Verizon first, then Sprint.
My roommate has the blackberry 8900 for t-mobile, and i compared they picture..they are the EXACT same thing…unless the features on it are different. It looks exactly the same…=/

it says AT&T because its probably just a picture of the curve 8900.
that and the tour are the same exact thing externally, only thing beside that are the dimensions of the phones. i believe the tour is slightly bigger? not exactly sure…
