Verizon Wireless releases “My Verizon” application for BlackBerry handsets

BlackBerry users on Big Red can now keep a leg up on their phone usage using Verizon’s latest BlackBerry application. Available for the Curve 8330, Pearl 8130 and 8830 World Edition, the My Verizon application allows users to check their minutes and data usage, view account balance, make payments, view plan, add/remove features and change their voicemail passwords directly on the handset. The application is available as an OTA download from the default Verizon BlackBerry browser homepage — http://mobile.vzwapp.com for those that have changed it. Unfortunately, Storm owners can skip this application as it is apparently compatible with trackball-sporting BlackBerry handsets only.

Verizon has wifi on pda’s…. Just not on Rim devices due to a contract with Rim stating every customer who owns a Rim device MUST have a data package. Pda’s do not require one, hince the ability to use wifi.

Any PDA/Smartphone launched on or after November 14 requires data… WiFi is basically pointless with Verizon, unless you have an older PDA

    Paul Seitelman says:

To disable compatibility of an application, using MyVerizon as example:

From Options, select Advanced Options then select Applications

Scroll to and highlight MyVerizon then press menu (blackberry) button.

if compatibility is enabled there will be a selection to ‘disable compatibility’ – select it.

If compatibility is already disabled, you will not see a ‘disable compatibility’ selection
