Verizon Wireless releases “My Verizon” application for BlackBerry handsets
BlackBerry users on Big Red can now keep a leg up on their phone usage using Verizon’s latest BlackBerry application. Available for the Curve 8330, Pearl 8130 and 8830 World Edition, the My Verizon application allows users to check their minutes and data usage, view account balance, make payments, view plan, add/remove features and change their voicemail passwords directly on the handset. The application is available as an OTA download from the default Verizon BlackBerry browser homepage — http://mobile.vzwapp.com for those that have changed it. Unfortunately, Storm owners can skip this application as it is apparently compatible with trackball-sporting BlackBerry handsets only.

great!!! now over time i hope big red will add more features on this App besides the usual payments, minutes etc.
where the hell is the niagara verizon
fail
Also, Verizon why don’t any of your Blackbery handsets have wifi? Want impress me? Add wifi!!!
How about all of us Storm users? We are always last, on the newest phone….
if i had a billion dollars, i would buy a niagara of craigslist. Or i would pay the etf for all of verizons customers and switch them to any carrier of their choice. wats 83mil times 175???
you mean that in the end you’l stay with the billion. the “carrier of their choice” would be…… you guessed it
I freaking hate Verizon. They’re not supporting the storm at all =( please Verizon release a storm version, and for Christ’s sale release the OS upgrade now!
Ha ha I love the Now Network….Can’t Wait 4 The Pre….verizon blows.
natsfan,
You’re only hope of a storm upgrade is to buy the Storm 2 when it’s released. MUWAHHHAHHAAHAAAAA
Not even Verizon could be bothered to release a Storm compatible version from day 1 of this app’s release. What a joke…
Didn’t this app come out last week?
It works on the storm. Just disable compatibility mode..
iPhone has had that since day one. Let the flames begin!
Verizon has wifi on pda’s…. Just not on Rim devices due to a contract with Rim stating every customer who owns a Rim device MUST have a data package. Pda’s do not require one, hince the ability to use wifi.
Any PDA/Smartphone launched on or after November 14 requires data… WiFi is basically pointless with Verizon, unless you have an older PDA
Actually, it works fine on my Storm. I disabled compatibility mode. Words fine.
Here is the link for the Storm
http://is.gd/tXiY
Link is case sensitive, remember to disable compatability mode.
I have Storm and disabled compatibility mode for this application but I get error message stating there are no available servers try later… Any suggestions
I got the same message on the storm. Not available servers try again. Did anyone have any luck? Also how do you change the compatibility? Tia
To disable compatibility of an application, using MyVerizon as example:
From Options, select Advanced Options then select Applications
Scroll to and highlight MyVerizon then press menu (blackberry) button.
if compatibility is enabled there will be a selection to ‘disable compatibility’ – select it.
If compatibility is already disabled, you will not see a ‘disable compatibility’ selection
After I applied the latest OS release at end of May (2009), the My Verizon app worked.
“want impress me”…. ironic!
After appling the newest version of My Verizon on my Tour the app stoped working. Is anyone else seeing the issue
