I seriously don’t get it. Why wouldn’t I get an iPhone if the nuvifone is going to be AT&T? It’s going to be a cheap feeling brick, its a first gen phone. The rumor is that apple is finally going to have navigation in the 3.0 release in June – and if there is a new generation iPhone to go with it, Garmin ought to cut bait and get out of this market now!

Who buys WinMo devices these days? That OS is stuck in the stone age.

Microsoft better take Windows Mobile 7 seriously & deliver something truly innovative, or they will be laughed off smartphone platforms all together.

Please dont let it be AT&T…The suck! Billing errors, OVERPRICED serivce, plus people working their never seem to have the same answer for anything. I hope it goes to sprint and Verizon.

It’s definitely going to AT&T due to the simple fact they use GSM, it’s not economically smart to waste money on other US carriers that still use CDMA, while they can produce GSM phones for the entire world.

@ KDM: Perhaps I just didn’t receive the high-caliber education that you must have, but I read this post totally different.

Judging from the last sentence in this post (”An AT&T-subsidized, LiMo-fueled, 3G-rocking navigation beast… We want it.”), I would speculate that they did not slap Win-Mo on it.

Did you also get that there was no way it would go to AT&T?

@KDM: makes you wonder, doesnt it? If WM is as bad as people like you claim how come so many device makers purposely choose it as the OS for their devices? They could have gone with a feature-phone OS, Symbian or even Android yet they choose WM, especially relevant when you consider they have to pay a license fee for it.

Maybe its because they can see that despite its image in the press and user’s biased minds its actually a powerful, extremely customisable OS that meets their needs.

Nah, that couldnt be it. Guess they are in MS’s pocket, thats why.

I can just see AT&T disabling the built-in navigation expecting people to shell out an additional $10/mo for TeleNav for this thing, like on the AT&T BlackBerries, where “not supported” is really “actively do everything to disable” BB Maps.

Wouldn’t that just take the cake?
