Internal T-Mobile memo confirms the Sidekick LX 2009
The folks over at HipTop got their hands on an internal memo from a T-Mobile employee that confirms most of the rumors regarding the highly anticipated upcoming addition to the Sidekick line. According to the memo, the new Sidekick LX will feature GPS-enabled Live Search, a 3.2 megapixel camera and more social networking integration than you can handle. Get Ready for the New Sidekick LX
T-Mobile is preparing to launch the thinnest Sidekick ever, with blazing fast 3G connectivity for customers to connect with friends quickly and easily. The new Sidekick LX will come equipped with GPS enabled Live Search, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and free bundled social networking applications including Facebook, My Space, and Twitter. Customers will also be able to watch and download You Tube videos directly from the device. The new Sidekick LX comes equipped with the features that customers love including a full QWERTY keyboard and an enhanced swivel screen that is larger and sharper than any other Sidekick.

The Sidekick 2 holds a special place in my heart, but it all went downhill from there. I think a major overhaul of the SK brand is looooong overdue. It’s still exactly the same in form factor and basic design. This will probably flop and hopefully some real innovation will occur.

This is gonna be pretty awesome. Definitely what a lot of Sidekick users have been waiting for… Sorry Big Papi but theres no way this is gonna flop, I think this appeals to current Sidekick owners & will attract new ones.
The BlackBerry Niagara 9630 which i am waiting for kills it, tortures it.. lol
All but one of my friends who have or had sidekick all moved or are moving to Blackberries or HTCs because the build, quality, and OS lack something new.
Sorry SK, your novelty has worn off and you are no longer the premier social connected device.

I don’t know ANYONE that uses a Sidekick of any type still. Some of my friends USED to have one, but have jumped ship for other phones like BlackBerries. And now that the G1 is here, this dumbphone will most likely flop. It won’t sway very many to Sidekick that isn’t already a fan, and the few that are fans aren’t enough to count.
I don’t understand why there are always people rippin on the Sidekick. I know some geeks do it with any device, but if you have so many complaints about how “juvenile” the Sidekick is, then it’s not for you! It sure as hell ain’t for me either, but I’m not going to yap on about it, because I understand I’m not in that market. Just let it live.

That’s because you’re no longer a teenager, right? To be brutally honest, I’ve -never- seen any adult using one.
I am a current sk lx user and I had the sk3 and I am 25, I own a teenager phone, the phone is absolutly garbage I have to pay 2.99 a month to get rss feeds which are only 5max, so the new sk is going to have technology that’s already old. It can’t and wont even compete a pee drop to the new iphone, palm pre, and new Blackberrys comming along. The new sidekick looks ugly , the phone is for people who are 15 and younger its ashame the phone could be coo much more but there target crowd is new born babies. If any one can give me help on how to get outta my contract without early termination fees plez help, and for people who are excited about this phone you must be retarded or new born babys.
@Christopher, go to a Jonas Brother or Hanna Montannah event and you’ll see oodles of Sidekicks positively quivering in pink glittery excitement.
Dear Mr.Crap,
“Change of user responsibility” is always the way to get out of a contract with a wireless carrier. If you can find someone who’s willing to legally transfer the responsibility of your wireless account over to their name….your free to go. That is, if their credit allows them so.
