BlackBerry BIS is dead, everywhere, again
Yep, looks like it’s that time of the month again. Comments and emails are pouring in about another BlackBerry network outage, this time apparently affecting all carriers across the US and Canada. BIS appears to be dead while BES users seem to be rolling along just fine. From what we can gather using our time line of “good lord, BIS is *&%!@#* again!” emails, it looks like problems were intermittent at first — delays and such — and now we’ve moved on to a full-on outage with no emails coming through at all. So tell us, if you can manage to stop pulling your hair out for a few seconds, where are you and how’s your Berry?

im getting emails on my @vzw.blackberry address but not on my @gmail address.
Yes it’s down, but gizmodo is reporting that his is planned maintenance.
Was dead on Nextel in New England for a good portion of the day, then I got all my messages a few minutes ago.

Who in the f*ck schedules a planned outage on a Monday afternoon?
If this is correct, I’m going to be pissed, because doing what I do, RIM always informs us of any planned outages.
Um, 1adonis1, gizmodo is not saying this is planned maintenance.
Here’s Gizmodo:
“Scheduled Blackberry Outage Tonight from 2-6AM EST
Blackberry outages send certain kinds of people into blind, feverish panics, like their arms were cut off, immolated and shoved down a garbage disposal. So that’s why RIM is updating their database in the wee hours of the morning over the weekend—tonight from 2-6AM EST, or more precisely, 6-10AM GMT. Expect no email, internets or roaming during that dark, scary period.”
This isn’t the case here, because BBM and Browsers are still working.
RIM just let the interns back in charge again.

This was a BIS outage, not BES, so no worries right?
No trouble at all here with Sprint users on a BES.
8900 with Tmobile n my BIS is working fine
mine was down for 2-3 hours on AT&T in Miami but all 4 emails I didn’t receive just arrived on my BB moments ago – might be back up now

Yes…BES is running just fine.
The funny thing is, it’s been jacked up for the better part of 2 hours. That’s why it kinda surprised me once I realized there was outage, because I usually start getting calls, oh, 3 minutes after it goes down.
ATT in LA with no BIS service. Starting to go into withdrawal…now.

It’s dead here in Sin City Vegas. Has been since about 10:30am
8900 on Tmobile is dead. No emails coming through here in Motown (Detroit) as of 4:15pm.
VZ is Down in SLC since about 11:30 am MST.

FWIW, TMobile in Hawaii is up and running; no issues.
All good in Los Angeles,CA ! All of my emails working properly ( yahoo, gmail, aol and my blackberry.net ) So whats the deal with everyone else’s?
