New Swiveling Nokia hitting Verizon Wireless?

If this wasn’t from one of our normal ninjas we probably wouldn’t publish it, but since it is, here we go… We’ve been told that there’s a “swiveling E71-type handset” that’s going to be launched on Verizon around the July/August time-frame. Yes, a swiveling QWERTY Nokia phone. Before you get too excited, we’ve been informed the OS it will be running will be S40 and not S60. Major buzzkill, huh? The image above is a mockup our guy sent us based on first hand impressions.
Thanks, Daddy G.!

@Latinjersey-
you say “Your parents wireless carrier?” listen here you douchebag, before the merger with cingular, AT&T was shit and wasnt selling anything. they were looking for candidates to merge with someone. so if it wasnt for cingular your sorry ass carrier wouldnt be anything. I bet your parents have Verizon Wireless. your one of those people who envy verizon. you said our crippled network and outdated network? hmm.. doesnt that remind of of at&t and their atrocious 3G network? .. jea thats right the carrier with the most calls dropped, fewer bars in more places.. you just got me warmed up.. and for the iphone?.. just to give you some facts Verizon was the desired carrier for it, so their contract is almost up with at&t. So your testing our toys and were gonna make it better when it comes to us. so enjoy the iphone while u can for its coming to its parents. we gonna have netbooks, and cells too. we have the network extender you moron. we have the best network, andin additon to our LTE/4G on the horrizon it will make Verizon even better. So go away you penis licker with you at&t and your iphone toy.
@Richie
Your right good buddy, my parents do have Verizon wireless, and so does my grandmother. Yes we all know VZW was offered the iPhone first, but unfortunately for you VZW was to out of the times to understand what the iPhone would be in the big picture. And yes you will have netbooks, and all Netbooks are WiFI Compatible (a network VZW has none of), so I will let you know how my netbook works via AT&T hotel Wifi next time I’m there with your girl! (thats for the douche bag comment, I wasnt getting personal till the VZW cowards decided too)
@latinjersey-
hahaha you think im hurt cuz you mentioned my girl, your a cornball got nothing else better to say, u just mad cuz im telling you the truth and u cant handle the truth. So what if ur in hotel, who cares, Verizon is still better hands dowm, we dont need Wifi, Our network is too good for your info..
Latinjersey-
I would say at this point why dont you go to walmart, buy a raft, blow it up ( bc you are actually good at blowing ) and float your ass back to whatever 3rd world country you came from
virgin mobile>>>verizon/at&t
xD
@ Latinjersey
Speeds wont be the same if you have many people on it at once. And AT&T coverage is no where in the amount of places Verizons is. Are devices are not crippled, but AT&Ts network is crippled. All those outages we hear about all the time. People today need something that they can count on to work when they need it and WHERE they need it. Thats why more people like Verizon over any other network. And you should know that sense you think you are soooo “smart”. Your pretty dumb with your lack of information. Verizons network is not outdated. We already have LTE being deployed throughout the US and will be sold at the end of 09 to the start of 10. This will the first LTE network in North America (and US incase you do not know what North America means).
Looks nice. But not big on the swiveling handsets like the sidekick.
Posted from BGR Mobile (iPhone).
@latinjersey. I was sitting it out for a while to see if there is some sanity in this forum. Sure enough they didn’t dissapoint. To say outdated on big red (service,reception) is the dumbest thing ever said. I will tell you this. Funny you mention the year 2,000 (original comment), I don’t think they even had celular service back then south of the border…… How would you know? Take that latinjersey……..
@joecurve
LOl
this forum isn’t called New Swiveling Nokia hitting Verizon Wireless?, its called Verizon Wireless hitting swiveling latinjersey…
@latinboy (cont.)
“Sprint and Verizon didnt mention 3G until AT&T started to”
That’s such crap and it just proves how misinformed you really are. I’m rephrasing your comment a bit here. “When ATT was still “c r a w l I n g” on EDGE-2G (still do, in 95% US) verizon was providing EVDO -the CDMA version of 3G- in 95% US”. Now, that’s fact!!!! Just a little correction right there
@joecurve
keep going bro, lol
@ richie.
LOl Good job.
Its the “MOST RELIABLE NETWORK vs. MOST RELIABLE DUMBASS. The contest begins. No wonder BG haven’t posted any new thread. He sits back and enjoys it……
You guys should watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition! Its utterly retarded!
Wait is that off topic?
@joecurve
roger that!! lol ..
I do think VZW’s phone selection is not that good. I don’t like their proprietary OS on their non-smartphones. I am hoping LTE will change this.
A question to anyone that may know, does LTE use SIM cards? If it does, then it seems like VZW won’t have a choice as to what OS they put on their phones.
@ David Thande
Apparently not (off topic), since you did reccomend it.
Dear Latinjersey,
On behalf of those of us who actually do technical work in the wireless industry-ATT is so being sued tight now for false advertising in coverage and transmission speeds in several states. HSUPDA is not faster then EVDO Rev A nor will it catch either Wi-Max or LTE with it’s “upgrades”-thus the lawsuits (google that). Lastly, calling something “old school” in favor of GSM shows a serious lack of knowledge friend. GSM-based HSUPDA=GSM-which means that it is based on a digital technology that is over 30 years old. Iphones, netbooks and such do not equate anything with speed or reliability. All carriers have femtocells or repeaters and all are getting netbooks. Every carrier gets 6-8 hot phones a season. It is not reality…
Where’s Latinjersey????????
@ crashoverride.
Finnaly some sense here. I-phone is wonderfull, and to be honest I’m bitching every day why good devices land first with such a lousy network like ATT, I understand though, that GSM is the more “popular” (more countries) network then CDMA, that’s my understanding on why they get it first, (right? Crashoverride?) And I believe that the bold (EDGE 2-G, in most of the US) has better speed then the “other, older BB’s” is because it has a powerfull processor, that’s why the “NIAGARA” will be a success!!
@joecurve
amen brother, i own a storm and cant wait for the Niagara..
Where’s Latinjersey????????
Watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition with David thande……
Who cares about that misinformed retart, by the way is this a sidekick killer, likes more like a sidekick slide but much wider..
@ richie. To be honest though, I’m puzzled @ my friends ability to multitask voice and data on his BOLD something you cannot do on the CDMA BB’s. I’m not sure however, if it is a GSM/CDMA issue or its just the device. I hope its the latter, Mr. Cashoverride, if your stil with us, or any knowledgable person for that matter can you please have some input on that? Thanks in advance
@ richie
Its certainly in the “alias 2/canadian cleo-strut/LG lotus family. But from the post above it seems that it has “E71 OS” that smells more ’smartphone’ to me then it is a ‘clamshell/flip’. It will be the perfect set for me, I don’t know about you, I’m tired of holding a wide BB on my ears, plus the lack of multi-tasking also dosent help, so I’d like to have a small qwerty clamshell for talk and small texting , and a BB for….you know what. Let’s wait ‘n see.
