TELUS launches the Palm Treo Pro for $149.99

It was only last week when we found out that TELUS was going to follow in Bell’s footsteps and launch the Palm Treo Pro. Well, on Tuesday that day finally arrived. Going for $149.99 on a 3-year ($549.99 retail) it’s not quite as tasty as Bell’s $99.95 Treo Pro but it’s still a fair deal, relatively speaking. To people already with TELUS who have a good plan they don’t want to give up, we can’t see that $50.04 getting in the way. You know, unless they’re intent on getting a Pre as soon as it makes its way North of the 49th Parallel.

    Has anyone ever used a Palm phone? It seems to small to really use comfortably, anyone ever have a palm and a black berry? Which is better?

    No, Ralph. No one has -ever- used a Palm or Blackberry before.

    Far too little. Far too late, Telus.

    We all know Treo Pro will be a roadkill in the smartphone war. I am thinking it has to do with building a relationship with Palm to get the exclusive right for Palm Pre.

    IMHO

    @joey: He’s not a n00b. He’s a troll.

    @tom: Could be, but if this is just ’strategery’, it puts a release of the new, improved Palm off in the distance a bit.

    I have the Treo Pro and it is a great phone. The browser is good and the transition from my 700p was easy. I do not care for the horizontal sliders. I am glad more carroers are picking up this great phone.

    It’s an “OK” phone. I’m forced to use it because of work. I find myself making tons of spelling mistakes compared to my BB Curve.

    @ Don Louie – Don’t forget that Canadian carriers typically make you sell your soul for 3 years. I will gladly pay 25%-50% more to get a new phone every year (I’m Sprint Premier)

    I must be one of the 5 people in the world who actually dig this phone, and would love to pick it up – The fact that I’m on Verizon though, not willing to deal with the headaches of Sprint, and not in Alltel coverage areas make all that a bit frustrating.

    Maybe Verizon will pick it up once the merger is complete?

    I have the phone and so far I like sprint, $69.99 at unlimited data?? You must be bugging if this doesn’t sound like a win, the only thing not going for this phone is the key size.
