Canada’s Fido now offering “refreshed” iPhone 3Gs
To say that a new iPhone is not on its way is like saying Glenn Beck isn’t messed in the head, and the fact that Canada’s Fido is now offering “refreshed” iPhone 3G’s to clean house is yet another piece of supporting evidence. Refreshed? Yes, refreshed. Essentially, a refreshed iPhone 3G was purchased by someone who returned it before 15 days or 30 minutes of talk time — which differs from “refurbished”, e.g. a phone that got stepped on at a kegger and had a few parts replaced by Apple. The savings on a refreshed iPhone 3G are not much to fawn over at $50, making the 8GB $149.99 and the 16GB $249.99. Warranties on refreshed units are curtailed by six months as well, but it’s not like that’s going to stop a fickle consumer from getting his/her refresh on.

Hey guys, great story and love the site. I know you guys are lighthearted at times, but can we please steer away from the political jabs? We’re all entitled to our opinions, but I really don’t find it appropriate for either the story or the site in general and it’s only going to serve to drive people away from your site in the long run (as demonstrated by at least one person’s posting already). Anyways, just my two cents, keep up the good work.
Seriously? Why are you all upset about one joke (not a commentary by any means)? Are you the same people who get all upset if someone says that WinMo sucks? Is your own personal self-worth so wrapped up in which crazy political commentator you choose to watch? I admit I watch Glenn Beck every now and then (hey, I need a good laugh now and then), but I also realize that he is a performer (check out his resume, he started as a radio DJ). I also don’t care if you call my phone (iPhone) a piece of crap, or my favorite political commentator a whack job (I don’t agree with everything Anderson Cooper says, sometimes I choose to use my own brain instead of what the head in the box tells me).
Seriously, lighten up… think for yourself, and go outside and get some fresh air
BGR, I thought it was funny and not even remotely offensive, but hey, I’m a well-adjusted 30 year old who doesn’t live in my parents’ basement, and am not afraid of sunlight, foreigners, people with different phones than myself, or people with different political views than myself. Guess I am in the minority!
I don’t care if you’re making fun of Obama or Rush Limbaugh… there are too few places to go anymore to escape the political crap that divides our country. I want tech news when I come to BGR, not political jabs. If I’m asking too much, I can easily find another blog to read.
I am Canadian and I WISH we had a Glenn Beck or Limbaugh up here. I’m so sick of the granola-crunching left hysterical morons destroying America and Canada alike.
And yes, I agree with most everyone here who says BGR should steer clear of political comments in postings.
Regards.
wow! sounds like a sweet deal to me! Oh, wait… Best Buy offers the same units with a 2 year contract on AT&T and a full one year warranty, and their full protection plan for accidental damage if you want it.
Well, I guess its as good as you van get in Canada. Hope they’re matching that offer in Future Shop!
