who wants the touch dimond when the far superor samsung onmia is going for 99 dollars.
More importantly…who would want the diamond, when the diamond “2″ is set to be released later this year?
Im trying to understand what excitment or purpose verizon has with releasing this since sprint has had it since Late September.
And im really starting to doubt that Verizon will get the Touch Pro 2 Before Sprint too. Aside from that, you could get the Pre next month instead of this.
But hey, Verizon loves Sprints Sloppy seconds….
Fail.

It’s sad that HTC has to be so much work into Windows Mobile to sell it. I can’t wait till they completely ditch Microsoft and move to more intuitive Android handsets.
Just as with Michael Bettiol’s “breaking news”, this release is old and tired.
Alltel had it 1st and thier divested markets can get it now, the vzw one does have expandable memory and looks different. They have the HTC Rhodium coming too, they should be getting new handsets from them quicker going forward.
Its probably gonna suck like their Touch pro, here we go again Verizon! you know, Sprint is catching up! Get your game together!
BFD….
So can we expect Verizon to get the Touch Pro 2 in 2012?
Good god….
Why would anyone with functioning gray matter bother getting this release [from any recently releasing carrier] when it is already clearly outdated? That is, all but absolute bargain-basement hunters willing to settle for less than” …
can u explain to me why i would want this instead of the touch pro with 198 mb RAM? what is VZW’s deal that it takes them so long to get stuff released? seriously…this phone is like 9 months old…oh well..they didnt get the touch pro til november so what else is new
OMG! This phone has different specs than the Sprint one! That means it’s custom designed just for Verizon AND INCLUDES WiFi!!!!! Someone’s gonna get FIRED! We know how much Verizon HATES WiFi!
This is why I thank god every day that I’m not on verizon. Ya at&t is not the best, but at the very least I can use any phone I want. I had the diamond almost a year ago, and now verizon releases it? I swear they’re pathetic.
Removable memory? Thats new.
Still, 6 months too late.
Who wants a yesterday technology phone with crippled GPS and memories? Not sure what Verizon was thinking?
@Peter: “removable memory” equals lobotomized.
Its the Same Price as Sprints.
It has the same Memory and RAM and all.
It has an expanded meory slot which Sprints does not.
It has Visual Voice Mail which Sprints does not.
Stop complaing and grow up. Oh yeah, we don’t cripple GPS anymore.
Pretty universal yawn for the Verizon Diamond. Hope the rumors of an early release date for the Diamond 2 are true. Delays of course risk real competitive products from Samsung & LG
Red,
Why to repeat tired old (inaccurate) arguement.
VZW has several phones with wi-fi. Have for a while. Only their BB don’t have wi-fi. Coincidentally no CDMA BB has wi-fi.
Still late for the release. Should be 149.99 or 99.99. At least make the wait worth the peoples time.
sprint has 288/256, so again vzw has crippled a device. visual vm is a good addition, but lets not pretend its free. expandable memory is nice as well, except that 4gb is good enough for 95% of users and oh yeah, if you want any memory in it youll have to buy it. well stop comparing when vzw stops doing things that make us compare.
Crippled phones VS crippled network. No winners here.

Wow… good job, VZW. It’s only been out for everyone else in the fucking world for the better part of a year now.
AT&T is expanding their network for the new iPhone, VZW. What are you going to do when their network matches yours? It’s not like you’ve got the hardware to be on their level.
Remember that “Any App, Any Device” announcement (pops)? What a fucking joke.
That’s the 2nd time that “crippled network” lie has been brought up w/trollman linking that site like that’s the # 1 resource for coverage indicators. Verizon has a Diamond coming albeit months later but they still have it
Coverage, as confirmed by towers and by users, is no lie, bitchboy. And additionally, until that post above, I’ve not referred to your Jesus-carrier as ‘crippled’ previously. So pissy because the independent site does not accept $$$ from carriers? Sad, little defensive trolling-apologist you are.
Diamond is still a year late and a $100 dollars too much.
@ Orga
There is no way AT&T will be like Verizon at all. They have NO coveage out west at all. It’s all ROAMING. You are a fucking idiot. AT&T sucks. And AT&T roams off Verizons GSM network (old Unicel) network in Alabama, Mississippi, Maine, and OR. Also, in NE, OK, IL, GA, FL, TX, ND, SD, MT, ID, VA, ect. because of Alltels GSM network. I would keep my mouth shut if I were you, what a dumb ass! HAHA
