LG’s Voyager 2, enV 3 for Verizon Wireless get pictured, blurred
One of ninjas just came through with pics of LG’s update to the popular but oh so craptastic Voyager. The LG Voyager 2 (original, huh?) is obviously going to hit Verizon soon, and for an extra treat, we’ve got pictures of the handset with the LG EnV3 as well. Still too much bezel! This is supposed to be the ‘flagship’, right? Well Verizon and LG need to get their shit together to actually make it look like it is one.

I was looking forward to the VX11000 there were rumors about it being a slider, rumors about it being called something other then the voyager 2, etc. Now it looks like just the same lame crappy phone.
I’m getting so damn tired of Verizon’s shitty phones.
umm…they look EXACTLY the same as their predecessors.
i think verizon houses the most unoriginal phones out there…and turns down all the devices that could very well break that stupid mold for them
wow wtf, the first voyager is much more nicer and the enV phones are all crap.
Voyager = doodoo. For real, I don’t know anyone that owned one that actually liked it. Why make another? I really do enjoy the quality of verizons network, too bad they have the worst selection of handsets available.
I mean seriously, how can Verizon stay so far behind the curve with these phones?
I don’t know who to blame here, LG for not really changing anything on their phones for years and re-marketing them (sounds like Detroit or Microsoft) or Verizon for crippling innovation by mandating the use of their severely outdated and useless OS.
I don’t get all the hate here. The Env2 is a fantastic phone for someone who just wants a phone with a QWERTY keyboard for texting. It gets solid reception, battery life, and isn’t too big. Not everyone wants Email/Web/everything-under-the-sun on their phone, and the Env2 fits that bill perfectly. The Env3 looks the same with a slightly bigger exterior screen (a popular complaint of the env2). Damn Verizon for listening to consumers!
Im with Bdizzah on this one. A friend of mine picked up the first Voyager when it was released and we compared it to my Alltel 6800. Needless to say the 6800 walked all over it in every aspect (Minus having a super cool retractable antenna). Sure they’re not totally in the same catagory… but its still something trying to be great, wanting to be great, but woops… fell short.
I’ve had my voyager for over a year and still love it. I got rid of my blackberry pearl for this phone. Itsd been great, I love the keyboard and having a touchscreen. I’m looking forward to the vger 2

WOMP! WOMP! Try again Verizon. I am sooo sick & tired of VZW coming out with the same ole’ phones, when will this madness stop!? I had the Env1, hated it! & I currently have the Voyager refresh or whatever it’s called & I hate it more by the day, so why would I want to upgrade to another Bullshit Phone? VZW’s phone selection has been terrible as of late & it don’t look like its getting any better, so it’s time for me to switch to another carrier. AT&T got some good phones coming out this month. Hmmmm….

That IS one of the DUMBEST comparisons… EVER!!! By your logic(or lack there of), we should also compare a early 90’s startac to a Iphone. Wow the Iphone blows that thing out of the water… Really? Let’s not compare a PDA/phone to a dumbphone.
you guys are complete idiots. this isnt trying to compete with an iphone. these are GREAT qwerty phones for that avid texter/IMer without having to shell out cash for expensive data plans and fancy functions. I had the voyager before the storm and it was an awesome phone!
@dave. I think you missed the point. Panda Barr compared a 6800 to a Voyager. I didn’t say anything to even close to comparing the iphone to the voyager 2 or env3. Obviously you don’t get sarcasm. Ask yourself… Who’s the idiot?
the only verizon phones to even be talked about during ctia are these two that look exactly the same as the originals. can’t they announce something actually worth waiting for. looks like its niagara for me.

Obviously the exec’s @ big red should listen to these blogs and be ahead of the curve for once. Why is the latest sliders @ ATT ? Whuy not even give the oppourtunity for the cstomers? How the hell did the moto avoke 4 landed to “cricket” of all carriers and not to a relieble base of cunsumers like verizon? Can they hear me now???????????????????????????????????????????
Wow some serious haters on this page. I work at a vzw store. And I can tell you we sell more env 2s then anything else. People love them. So verizon knows what sells so they make a newer better version of it. The voyager i dont really care for especially the charging port on it becuase they go pretty easy. Ive sold 4 chargers for it today….haha they always break. I say bring on the new models, they will sell. And yes these phones are not the iphone that is a pda, these are NOT.
Why cant Verizon get any good phones??? I got the Storm, and while I like it(it’s a huge step up from the razor I used) it’s got a lot of problems, and I’d be lying if I said I wasnt envious of the phone selection of the other carriers. I often wish I could get an Iphone or the Pre….hell, I’d take the G1. Here’s to hoping that by October 2010 (when I’m up for another free upgrade) Verizon has a better selection.
