I have 2 apps that are only made for palm. They don’t work with the windows palms. are they only to work with the Pre? That is all I want to know! If yes than I will get it! If not……kind of 2 bored with the palm to keep it much longer.

1-”Am I the only one who’s been burned by Palm so many times with false promises and vaporware to the point that I don’t really care at all about the Pre? I don’t even find it all that impressive. I’m not crazy about the form factor, and the keyboard looks like it’s ripped right off the Centro/Treo Pro (with some much needed added curvature) which automatically means it blows. That has to be one of the worst keyboards I’ve used in recent memory. I hate the gelly-feel. Give me the old-school Treo keyboard, please.

My question about this PalmOS emulator is:

Will it INTEGRATE into the Palm Pre’s hardware?

In other words: would a program like PDANET for Palm OS be able to take advantage of the Pre’s modem capabilities, allowing me to use the Pre as a modem? Or is this emulator basically a read-write emulator.

LoRes menus Included. I know palm users get touchy when it comes to keeping things as they are, but could anyone do a little design work and take advantage of the Pre’s display capabilities? Instead of having icons that look like they were from 8 years ago (yes I know they are ‘classic’) could they atleast retool them to look a little nicer? Even the widgets on my Omnia look better than the PalmOS icons. But whatever floats your boat I guess..

I for one am very excited about the new Pre. I personally will be purchasing one because I have to give thing a chance…it looks to me that this thing is going to be one killer device. I think that all the former iPhone users will love being able to multitask. I am going to hold on to my 8330 Curve also, until I decide whether the Pre is enough to steal me from Blackberry…

The Pre definitely looks to be Palms best device ever by far. However with a Bold/Storm combo reportedly rumored (you know it’s coming sooner or later) and another iPhone in the near term I don’t know if the Pre has me ready to pay a cancelation fee or switch over.
