HTC @ CTIA

There’s a reason companies around the world often go to HTC when they need to outsource handsets — they’re without a doubt among the best when it comes to build, form and design. This year at CTIA, the HTC Snap announced this morning was the only new addition the company showed off, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take another look at two of the most exciting upcoming handsets currently on deck too, right? Hit the jump and get your gawk on.

First up, a few more shots of the Snap. As you can see, the Inner Circle feature wasn’t live yet on the handset which is a shame because we definitely wanted to check it out. As for the hardware itself, it feels great. The dimensions are ideal for a work horse candybar, the keypad is surprisingly inviting and the handset has that nice rubbery feel a la the HTC Touch.

Next up, the handset we can’t wait to get back at BGR HQ so we can abuse the hell out of it: The Touch Pro2. Just look at it… That sleek case, that giant sliding/pivoting touchscreen, that spacious QWERTY keypad; it’s all good, literally. The Pro2 is a bit of a beast though, but sacrifices must be made in order to stuff all that sexy into one package.

Last but certainly not least is Pro2’s little cousin, the HTC Touch Diamond2. As you well know, it’s basically a Pro2 sans-QWERTY — just like the original Diamond and Pro. Same giant touchscreen, same sexy TouchFLO 3D UI over Windows Mobile and same attention to detail. If a QWERTY isn’t your thing and WinMo doesn’t make you head for the hills, the Diamond2 is definitely a contender to be your next handset. Definitely.

I can’t wait until T-Mobile US releases the TP2 aka T-Mobile Wing II. T-Mobile is in need of a 3G WM smartphone.

Why can’t we get some sexy handsets like this for android. My god the Snap would be perfect with android. It may even convince me to further split time with my G1/Bold.

Same kiddie keyboard on that Snap that HTC used on the tired Dash. Not much else to raise an eyebrow about.

The CTIA is starting off weak. I really hope they pick up the pace. So far no earth shattering announcements. Hopefully Big TMO wont let a sista down. Me likes that TP2! Might just be my new husband, if my current one doesn’t get it together.

I agree… Android is too new to be worth a damn. I have one with T-Mobile and an using it on their minute 3G network. I am dying for the TP2 or anything WM on T-Mobile 3G. Nothing for a while… I’m afraid. Not until Q3 2009. Hopefully, the TP2 will be out on all of the 4 major US carriers by then.

    Not bad, not bad.

Two things: resistive screens and horrific battery life – if HTC overcomes that then their phones will be absolutely stunning.

I am glad to see the right application of WinMo and its fully customizable UI, unlike half-a$$ed feature-cripples, “some assembly required”, “welcome back to 1999″ creations like Android. Keep it up!

Ok, so HTC took the 9630 and relabeled it with a $hitty camera.

Who cares. Its just more same old, same old Win Mobile garbage. There is nothing here to make it any better then any other crappy win mobile device.

I have to laugh every time I hear some dolt mention HTC along with the phrase “good build”. Do you read anything besides your own blog BG? HTC has some of the spottiest quality control of any handset maker i’ve patronized, and i’ve been through plenty. With each generation HTC’s build quality gets worse. The Fuze/Touch Pro is their crowning acheivement, so far, in terms of utterly craptastic materials and workmanship. Total junk.

Put down your cracked, HTC made Xperia and pull your head out of your backside BGR.

I thought the tilt was a nice looking phone when I bought it…..I thought the Touch Pro was a nice looking phone when I bought it. I’ll think the TP2 is a good looking phone when I buy it.
HTC…..great designs, unlike Motorola, which just designs everything to look like a Razr.
