iPhone OS 3.0 beta 2 seeded to devz

Ooooh, can you hear that? That’s the static/dropped calls/jumbled audio on everyone’s iPhone running 3.0. Luckily, keeping in tradition, Apple has seeded a new build for OS 3.0 for qualifying developers (read: people that threw down credit cards/bought spots from Craigslist). Let us know if you manage to install it and notice any changes, ok?

Thanks, Clifton!

Seems faster, which is a big plus. Almost feels the same as it did before going 3.0.

There is a new place holder store icon in the settings…wonder what that’s for?

When searching through photos in beta 1, when zooming in you can not move the picture around. In beta 2 moving while zoomed in works.

    Youtube is still not functional.

Definitely faster and more responsive than beta 1.

Texts are sent more easily than in Beta 1.

Texts in beta one had a bug where when selecting previous texts they would highlight in blue, but now if you select outside of the text it disappears like it should.

Safari now warns when searching on fraudulent sites.

    I believe that is it.

hey BGR, are you saying that the AT&T service is : “static/dropped calls/jumbled audio”, or are you saying the iPhone does that? What phone/provider are you with?

I DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE ACTUALLY BELIEVE THERE ARE PHONES BETTER THEN THE IPHONE!! THE ONLY DAY BIG RED WILL SEE A LINE SNAKING AROUND A BUILDING OR PEOPLE CAMPING OUTSIDE AND SLEEPING ON THE STREET FOR ONE OF THEIR PHONES IS THE DAY APPLE GIVES THEM AN IPHONE!!

so, is the dig about static/dropped calls/jumbled audio really a legitimate problem? i’ve been mulling over getting one of these bad boys.. but not until sometime after July. either that, or an E71.

an honest[read: linked w/a reference] response would be very helpful. i’m looking to move away from WinMo, and am not at all interested in RIM.

No doubt the Iphone is a great phone. I didn’t start the Big Red fire on this thread but thought I would add a little gas to the fire since I am in vegas for the show lol… A friend and I decided to go play golf today and went to a course about an hour east of Vegas. He with an iphone and me with a verizon phone. ahhh he tried to listen in on a conference call on the ride to the course but his Iphone kept dropping the call every 5 minutes lol.. Finally he asked to borrow my Verizon phone so he could listen to the conf. call.. Oh it was sooo funny… I said ” Wow the Iphone is so kewl, IF you could actually make a damn call on the thing!lol ” By the time we returned to Vegas tonight he said ” THAT IS IT, LOVE THE PHONE BUT I HAVE TO HAVE SOMETHING THAT WILL FXXXXING WORK!” We just got back from the Verizon store with his new Verizon Omnia… Thought that was a funny story to share… Now he can actually make a call while at the show this week…Admittedly I love the iphone, just wish it was on a damn network that WORKED! lol

all he had to do was switch from 3G to Edge. big whoop. lets see how blackberrys run with all the new APPS on them. by the way, did you tell everyone that wasn’t a true story? but maybe it is, because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, and hopefully his new Omnia too…

Is anyone else sick of the iphone?
I hate it. It’s a pain in the ass and its a piece of crap. I work in cell phone kiosk at Wal-mart and I was pissed when they launched the iphone at my store. we had to get ATT’s official operating system (POS- pronounced “pause” for some reason)in order to carry it. So we have to activate using
POS and print a contract and then go through the activation process on the walmart OS and print another contract; more dead trees for no reason. Then you can’t just turn the phone on: it needs to be unbricked first. The least amount of money a customer can expect to pay (without hacking an iphone) is $70 a month and that is before taxes so it’s really close to $100.
    And for what?
A phone that cannot bluetooth ringtones or pics to your buddies. A proprietary music store. And, as of right now, doesn’t support MMS.
But wait, its the “cool” thing to have so all the sheep fall in line to make sure that even if they’re scraping by to make their monthly payment; at least they will have the phone that all the cool ppl have!
    God Bless America.
Oh yeah, I dont like the heat sensitive touch screen bc its impossible to text with your fingernails.
    hardcore retarded.
    BTW
Blckberry curve 8310 is $20 with a 2yr at walmart. add the pda personal at the point of sale and remove it when u get home. no one is the wiser.
I have one w/o the pda personal and despite what cust care reps will say, you will still receive pic msgs.
    peace

I am not a microsoft fan Nick Petro but when they release the Zune phone it will be on Verizon, that make make a snaking line. A source I have that is one of the chief designers of the UI on the phone confirmed it will be on Verizon. I love my iPHone but I sure hope microsoft is not stupid like Apple and wait two years to give it some functionality!
