Disney to bring new content to Hulu?

Hulu may be getting a healthy dose of new programming content courtesy of Disney. According to sources close to the situation, Hulu and Disney are in serious negotiations to bring Disney programming to the online video portal. The talks reportedly focus on ABC programming content which include the popular TV seriesĀ  Desperate Housewives and LOST, but may include programming from other Disney assets as well. In exchange for providing content, Disney is requesting an equity stake in Hulu on par with NBC Universal and News Corp and possibly performance incentives. With the relationship between Hulu and CBS souring, Hulu could use a high profile deal to boost its position in the increasingly competitive online video marketplace.

Sounds great!! ABC has a great website, but the “Download Player” requirement bars its content from many public/work computers that bar such downloads. Hulu has no download requirement and so can play in a broader range of places.

Wonder if Steve Jobs has any influence on this? He does still hold some power in Disney right? Im all for Hulu, just wish they would open it up to more devices.

Interesting really the internet is becoming a place of convincence. I watch more videos and movies on the net; more than on my tube.

Hulu, as far as I’m aware only runs on Windows Mobile devices, and only by using Skyfire. I’ve used it on my Motorola Q9c and Samsung Omnia and all things considered it plays back over the network very well.

I’ve watched Hulu on a Sprint Samsung ACE with SkyFire and it worked as long as you don’t mind no fullscreen and no pausing. It doesn’t work yet for BBs, but can’t wait for it to work in either OperaMini or the BB Browser.
