AT&T’s LG Xenon comes out of hiding

Having been delayed by AT&T causing it to miss its pre-Christmas launch, live photos of the LG Xenon are just now starting to surface on the internet in true pre-release style. The photos — taken with what one can only assume to be an old Nokia 6820 in dismal lighting conditions — don’t reveal much about the full-QWERTY slider that we don’t already know except for the OS of the device, which is said to be very similar to Samsung’s TouchWIZ in that it relies upon a series of widgets that can be moved to and fro. A quick recap of the known specs:

  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
  • Dual-band UMTS/HSDPA (850MHz/2100MHz)
  • 950 mAh battery
  • 105.5mm x 53.5mm x 15.8mm
  • 240×480 2.8″ LCD
  • 3 megapixel FF + VGA (VT)
  • 100MB of memory with microSD support up to 16GB
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • USB 2.0
  • Wi-Fi
  • EMP U330 Lite Chipset

As of now, we’re still looking at an April 9th release, barring more delays of course. In the meantime, feel free to hit the jump for a few more pics.

I just got this phone and I already love it. I feel bad for the people who didn’t shop around and paid a hundred for it because I got mine for a little over fifty bucks with my upgrade. Anyways, texting on this phone is great…either way the keyboard or the touch. And I have a question. I can’t find any definite info on the WiFi question. Some say it has it some don’t and I don’t want to get a huge bill with internet charges…so anyone know for sure?

Just purchased the xenon. Email appears to be very very lacking. limited to web based email, and as far as I can tell there is no indication when a new email is received. This requires you to constantly check your inbox which is not very practical.

I have only had this phone for 2 days but so far I am LOVING IT! I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go with this one or go with the Samsung Impression. I am really glad I picked this one especially for how much cheaper it is.

One thing that I want to point out about this touch screen is that unlike the iPhone (which I had), you can use a stylus pen or any other pointed pen/pencil with it. Sometimes when I am on the browser my fingers are too big to click on a small link, this is where a stylus can be handy!

Came across http://www.LG-Xenon.com it’s a very user friendly place for us the LG Xenon owners.

I really want this phone but people tell me if u slide the keyboard in or out too fast the phone freezes and breaks. Is that true? Does the camera have zoom? About how long does this phone last? If dropped, will screen break? Is it worth 100 bucks? When you slide out the screen does the screen really switch because Ive heard that it freezes alot? How horribly is the battery life. Is this the phone that only fills up 3/4th of the way?
