BlackBerry 8520 is the Gemini?

This whole thing is a little murky, but we’ve come across information on a BlackBerry Curve 8520 and it lines up exactly with what we’ve reported on the Gemini as far as specs go. Those, as a refresher, are:
- 320×240 resolution screen
- Wi-Fi 802.11b/g (no draft n)
- Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
- OS 5.0
- Changeable faceplates possible (Via CrackBerry.com)
- 2 megapixel camera (possibly no camera model as well)
It makes sense that this would be the new “low cost” Curve for “emerging markets” as it was put to us. Nothing groundbreaking, but a nice little bit of information nonetheless

Maybe we can toss in a few $million to put these in the hands of every bushman in Kenya!
^Clearly, you’d rather sit in the passenger seat and sob out of control … than get out and push.
This is Ugly and not worth my money or the banks money, lol not worth buying. Changing face plates? it reminds me of a sidekick. I rather wait for the Niagara 9630, now thats a device worth buying. Bye bye stupid Bold, here comes your competition
i would also like to add that this device might be for t-mobile. Hence the xx20. T-mobile Blackberry devices- 8320, 8820, 8120, 8220, now the 8520… so this is coming to t-mobile…
@greg
Yeah, I’m just being stupid… poking fun at the typical jerk off that doesn’t actually read the article and always asks “WHEN IS THIS COMING TO VERIZON?”
I give this one the gas face.

Lol finally, a blackberry that will find its way into preteen pockets across the nation, because they all really need constant email connection!
this is a maddd ugly Blackberry.. as much as i love blackberrys this is UGLY. even if itd had 3g, wifi, gps, etc.. i would NEVER buy this.. id stick to colorware for my customization!
It’s really not that ugly. Especially if you consider that it’s probably missing it’s faceplate… I think that this is an iteration of the 8320 and it will end up on t-mobile usa. It’s basically the 8320 repackaged with os5, which could be compelling if you wanted a cheap blackberry. (there’s this thing called the recession, and a lot of companies are looking to save $$) Also, rim can probably build this cheap due to the fact that they already have most of the hardware in the supply chain.
Looks like the screen resolution is less than the 8900, so NO THANKS!!
i lol’d
do they purposely use a gameboy camera to take pictures of new devices? what gives!
@Richie
Stupid Bold? Just to let you know. The Niagara is going to have the same freaking featuresas the Bold, the only thing majorly different will be the 8900 Curve style rollerball, and the unusuable locked down by VZW GPS.
this is one of the worst photoshops i’ve seen a in a while.. keyboard from a 8320, screen from who knows what and a blurred out section where the call/end call/bb button is.
old pic old rev (it’s so ugly!)
that faceplate would come off pretty easily eh? one piece.
but hey that looks prototype.. everything looks like that at one point =P
