AT&T offering refurbished BlackBerry Bold for free
In the market for a new AT&T smartphone? Don’t care if it’s refurbished? The BlackBerry Bold is about as good as it gets from AT&T right now, and those of you who haven’t pulled the trigger yet are in for a treat. How does free sound? Regularly priced at $299.99 new and $199.99 refurbished, this is pretty much a steal as long as a new 2-year contract doesn’t scare you off. It looks like the free deal is only good online and only for today, so get a move on!
Thanks, Chris!

Is this only good for NEW customers. I can sell my Storm pay the ETF anf get ATT. Pondering……
Quick question do you have the ability to recieve insurance on a refurbished phone?
Wow, this is a good deal. I was thinking of getting an iPhone with AT&T anyway. I could get this, sell it for some $$$, then buy a second hand iPhone for $200ish…
The bold has been proven to be a GREAT device. I dont know what to do………..
Apparently you have to be a new customer or adding a new line to your service. NOT an upgrade option.
@azboricua Yeah you’d be absolutely nuts to do that. ATT has ‘More dropped calls in more places’. Stick with the devil you know.
Indicative of a new Blackberry model arriving on AT&T shores soon?
OMGosh!!!
Are you serious???
I have been pondering buying this phone for the past week. Are refurbished phones really worth the risk? I have always bought brand new phones. I think I just may call up ATT and ask about the insurance…..
Thanks, This offer is definitely geared towards the Verizon customer too tired of waiting on the 9630, and willing to hop on the Bold bandwagon.
Can someone please inform me if you can recieve insurance on a refurb device. If so, any issues I have I will recieve a new unit, versus having to pay full price for a new bold…..HELP!!!
AT&T Refurbished phones look new, and work just fine.
I have purchased many refurb phones, directly and indirectly from AT&T, and have not been disappointed.
30 day ins. Policy on refurb models. I would never buy refurb phones anyway. I’m going to be on my second BOLD soon. I picked it up since the first day it came out. Problems here and there but still kills everyother phone in the U.S. Market. For me anyway.
So after 30 days your screwed????
The Free offer is valid for new customers only. But, the upgrade price for renewing customers is $199 for refurbished models.
Also, that $199 price has recently been lowered, just a few days ago it was $249. I only know because I placed an order for a refurbished Bold on Sunday.
Lucky for me, a quick call to customer service gave me a $50 credit.
I’m trying to add a line and get the deal, and it’s still showing as $199……..
Just for new customers. Fail.
You all know that if you have an etrade account you can get a new Bold for $99…..
New customers only. 90 warranty.

Go to Wirefly and you can get it for $0 (new contract) or $150 w/ an upgrade.
Call your homeowner’s insurance rep and add your phone with a writer/rider, whatever. I don’t pay any extra for mine.
I suggest insurance to my friends if their phone at full retail is valued at more then $200, simply because $200 is a small price to pay compared to $500 for a new phone..that and the $5-$7 for insurance is well worth it if it is over $200. Still my friends think they can just get a new price phone because “its not my fault my phone was stolen” its not ATTs fault either
so…even refurbished, insurance is a must!
think you gotta get the tethering with it.
im waiting for the pre, or the BB 9630.
good lookin thou, it made me think about it fer sure.
The Refurb Bold deal is available to existing customers -if- you order it as a -NEW- customer. Upon arrival and activation, call AT&T to have the new line merged into your existing acct. Afterward, you can do what you want with your ‘old’ account and phone number.
Wasn’t there a time (a couple years ago) when ATT said that they were not offering insurance on Blackberries?
I really gotta call them….
If AT&T would refurbish its network and rate plans this would be a great deal.
