WWDC 2009 to take place June 8th – 12th
There you have it people — Apple has just announced that its Worldwide Developer Conference 2009 will take place from June 8th through June 12th in sunny San Fran. We don’t have to tell you what that means of course, but we will anyway… New stuff! Thanks to AT&T we already have a pretty good idea of some of the announcements we can expect but we’re sure Apple has a few surprises up its collective sleeve. So what do you guys think? Netbook? Snow Leopard? Tablet? More than one new iPhone model? The Onion’s MacBook Wheel? Hit the comments section and be heard.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

verizon iphone?
@Zach,
Does iPhone 3.0 support tethering to the Wheel?

@Mike,
I think we have a better chance of the Wheel making it to WWDC09 than a VZ iPhone…
…It’s truly sad how Apple fleeces their loyal fan base. These annual refreshes have got to hit the pocket hard. I personally know at least 5 people that got a 3G iphone when they already had the first gen model, and i will bet my bottom dollar that if a new one drops this year, they’ll be on that line on 34th St again waiting for another…..I just don’t get it.
yeah i know, i just was posting first comment and thought i would put most far fetched thing
@Bdizzah, I owned the first iPhone, then I up graded it to the 3G model. Why, because it had something I wanted; 3g speed and GPS. I will admit that I am a Apple fanboy, but that has nothing to do with your question. Yes, if there is a new iPhone in June or July I will buy that one also. I love to have the latest and greatest when it comes to Apple products.
By the way, an iPhone resale value makes it easy to upgrade. I got $350 for my first phone. I originally paid $399.00 for it. After 9 months of use, I only lost $49.

@dash69
Hmmmmmmm, guess that makes sense then. I just don’t understand the apple trend. I had a first gen iphone as well, it was awesome at first; jailbroke it and the whole 9. But, after a while when all the new wore off I realized that it wasn’t all that great. I don’t know, I’m not bashing anyone I just personally don’t see why they can’t at least give people the full 2 years.
Isheep
@Dash69,
I TOTALLY AGREE!!!
NO PHONE ON THE MARKET HAS RESALE VALUES LIKE IPHONES!!
NOTHING!
The second highest IMO is sidekicks..sold mine for 250 when I got the 3g….followed by blackberries!!
But I think we will see a 8 and 16gb traditional iPhone and a 16/32/64 pro model with more appealing color choice, a faster processor, better camera, FULL FLASH SUPPORT AND MAYBE Backrounding (as opposed to push..wishful thinking I must admit)
Just My opinion..:-)

That’s cute Dash69; first Apple ripped you off on the first iPhone, and then you screwed over one of your friends by selling them your hand-me-down. Here’s a thought… maybe the ORIGINAL iPhone should have been 3G and had GPS (considering plenty of rinky-dink, mickey mouse phones had those features across almost ever carrier). You’re just as bad as all the rest of the ignorant Apple followers that fall under Apple’s insanely good marketing spell. Listen, I love Apple (seriously), but I’m not a fool. Let me guess, you think the iPhone 3G was the first 3G phone on the planet, right? And that Google Maps made its debut on the iPhone? Haha, some of you guys are just retarded…
No background apps, Apple has made this clear. They want to keep their software builds consistent, there is not reason to have a “special” build for the newer iPhone. I agree on the faster CPU, maybe more ram (although they never advertise these things – since memory management is automatic), and more flash storage. Not sure about the camera, I feel like people should just stop expecting an N95 sensor in an Apple product – but lets wait and see.
P.S. Too many color choices are confusing to an average person (free though is not welcomed here), think of all the case sales they would be loosing if people actually got the color they wanted and didn’t need to protect it from abuse
@Anon,
Good point mostly,
I read that post about the whole push background issue, I just think it’s make since as a higher end iPhone…
And I DEFFINATELY see the possiblity of two iPhones being likely considering the economy…
Remember all the rumors of a $99 iPhone back in December?
I imagine either two scanarios: either apple realeasing a mid range head set and a high end headset or a low end headset and a mid range headset…one would make since economically and the other would satisfy tech geeks/feature junkies to toss their blackberries…
Just my .02 !

@Brady,
LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!! The “i” culture is too much to handle. Everytime I walk into the hip and cool coffee shop, we all know which one, I always see people sitting with their macbooks or playing with their iphone drinking their 5 dollar mocawhateverthef##k. Same mentality, i’ll grab a dollar coffe from the newsstand thank you. And just so i don’t seem like a troll, i have an abundance of gadgets hell; i even have an ipod. I just don’t buy into all the apple hype.
Jeez! 10 weeks wait just to see if the iPhone will finally make me leave Sprint’s low cost phone plans for AT&T’s digital rape plan.
I’m looking for
1. High-res 800 x 480 screen
2. At least 32 GBs of storage or Micro SD
3. Better, low power consumption processor
4. 10 hours Internet usage/Video playback or removable battery.
I would have bought the iPhone 3G already if it was available on Sprint, T-Mobile(3G) or Verizon.
When is Apple going to release the iPhone from those AT&T shackles anyway?
I would say, “That’s a great question, PHug,” but you and I both know that AT&T/Apple will continue to rape all the WILLING followers out there forever if possible. You just have to laugh at ‘em. I mean, these idiots will seriously think they’re hot-shit when the iPhone finally has FLASH and copy/paste features. Yet they ignorantly diss on windows mobile now, which has had SKYFIRE for quite a while now. You know, THAT browser that already has f’in fast full HTML browsing, flash support, and embedded video—obviously a hell of a lot more than what the beloved iPhone can do… confused? I rest my case. Anyone else wanna go?
@Brady
Before the 3G iphone, no one besides people on tech sites (like this) cared about 3G. The average consumer probably still doesn’t know what “3G” even means, but Apple made it a catch phrase that everyone wants (i.e. VZW and Sprint commercials).
So in a sense, the 3G iphone was the first 3G phone… that anyone noticed or cared about.
VERIZON IPHONE!!! PLEASEE!!
LOL I would die if they did this!
Or got ripped off by, Steven… and here’s the funny part: there are families of two or three out there that pay slightly more than you do single-handedly with Sprint, including unlimited data and text messaging; and, they have better 3G coverage than you!
Man, I think Brady is a little jealous of the iPhone. Whatever.
Anyways, I have owned lots of phones and I keep realizing that there is no phone out there that can do what the iPhone does as easily and as awsomely as it does. Yes, I said awesomely. It is just that cool. Just admit it already. I can hardly wait for the next one. I am saving up already.
P.S. I don’t like coffee shops.
Just trying to talk some sense into you guys. Are you serious, jealous of a phone? Wow, some of you really are shallow… you make it seem like iPhone’s are impossible to find, or only available to the highest echelon of society. I’m not denouncing the “coolness” of the phone, just some of its users’ opinions and AT&T’s prices.
@ Brady
I do agree that a minimum like $90 before tax plan every month is pretty ridiculous. I think it’s really just the same situation that we’ve all seen in the past and will likely always see in the future; companies sell the brand name more than anything. Apple, being the hyped up brand that it is, allows for AT&T to overcharge users, and they’ll willingly pay it. That’s the scary part. Mind you, i’m not bashing anyone, I really do think the iPhone is cool, it’s just that like I mentioned before I agree with you. A lot of iPhone users really are ignorant, but that’s definitely not safe to say for all of them.
I’m going to get an iPhone maybe in April because I get a nice discount off my monthly bill regardless of which of the Big 4 carriers i’m on, so it really works out to my favor anyway. Otherwise, i’d probably never be caught dead paying those monthly rates lollll.
Interesting to see what gets announced.
As for trading or selling my 3g iPhone i dont plan to. Ive tasted the iphone and an say that so far no other phone provides that experience. Other than that im looking for a productibity phone now. Two different worlds, a consumer phone (iphone) and a business world (BB WM6).
The iphone can make tweaks and updates but its roots are entertainment and not geared for a business environment. almost there but not yet.
Also iphone 3G do have a good payback sold one for 850 (no joke).

@ Brady
as someone who doesn’t care either way about Apple products I think you should calm down a little. The Iphone is a great multimedia device wether you like it or not and it has changed the entire cell phone industry in a good way. You should just rub one out and call it a night.
Unibody iPhone Bitches!
I have no solid evidence for this, that I can reveal in public at least. But, my guess for the iPhone would be 2 new models. The first will be the same form factor as the 3G iPhone with a slightly larger (3.8″) WVGA OLED display, 5MP camera and faster processor (possibly 1GHz). The second will be similar spec-wise but with a slide out keyboard and a 4.1″ WVGA display, blurring the lines between netbook and phone-the iPhone Pro. I expect the former to top out at 32GB while the Pro may top out at 64GB depending on whether they can get the price point right ($499 on contract, while the iPhone 2 should come in at $199 and $299 for 16 and 32GB).
