MyCircle from Alltel, now with more Circle

Great news for Alltel customers this morning as the company announced some changes to its MyCircle calling feature. Customers in 91 divested markets across 22 states will wake up tomorrow with the option to add five more numbers to their MyCircle plans for free. The change applies to those of you with a MyCircle 10 or MyCircle 20 plan and the five additional unlimited numbers will become available automatically. Just in case you haven’t heard of this feature before and Chad doesn’t haunt your dreams like he does ours, MyCircle allows users to make and receive calls for free to any out-of-network numbers in the US. The number of MyCircle numbers available is determined by the plan Alltel customers choose. Here are the new plans (MyCircle 5 will remain unchanged):

  • MyCircle 15 (replaces MyCircle 10): $59.99, 900 anytime minutes, 15 MyCircle numbers
  • MyCircle 25 (replaces MyCircle 20): $99.99, 2,100 anytime minutes, 15 MyCircle numbers

Alltel Wireless expands industry leading “My Circle” calling feature to include five additional numbers for unlimited calling

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – In 2006, Alltel Wireless revolutionized the wireless industry with the launch of “My Circle,” the extremely popular calling feature allowing customers to make and receive calls to and from any number on any network. Starting tomorrow, Alltel is making “My Circle” an even more robust, more flexible and more cost-effective calling feature. In the 91 Cellular Market Areas (CMAs) that Verizon is required to divest, which will continue to operate as Alltel Wireless until they are sold, customers on “My Circle 10″ and “My Circle 20″ calling plans will automatically receive an additional five numbers for unlimited calling.

Alltel is once again demonstrating its steadfast commitment to providing its customers with value and unmatched control over their wireless experience with today’s announcement of a major expansion to “My Circle.”

With the addition of five numbers to “My Circle,” Alltel customers in these 91 CMAs in 22 states will now have unlimited calling to more of the people that matter most to them. The new “My Circle 15,” previously “My Circle 10,” and “My Circle 25,” previously “My Circle 20,” will maintain the same competitive rates. “My Circle 15″ starts at $59.99 per month and includes 900 anytime minutes, and “My Circle 25″ starts at $99.99 per month and includes 2,100 anytime minutes. The five additional numbers will be automatically available to existing “My Circle” customers on eligible plans.

“My Circle” pioneered the concept of unlimited calling, and we are thrilled to offer a level of flexibility and value to our customers which is not available from any other wireless carrier,” said Lynette Jurgens, Senior Marketing Leader, Alltel Wireless. “The best part is there is no action required by our customers to receive these additional numbers-they are instantly available to eligible accounts for customers in our 91 CMAs. By offering an additional five numbers to our most popular calling plans, Alltel is providing our customers with even greater value, and the freedom of unlimited calling to more of the people they talk to most often.”

Calls to “My Circle” numbers are in addition to anytime minutes, unlimited night / weekend minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile minutes included in customers’ calling plans. Alltel customers still enjoy the convenience of changing their numbers anytime and at no charge by simply going to www.alltel.com/myaccount

Alltel Wireless continues to be an industry-leader, providing choice and flexibility with its exclusive “My Circle” feature. And now, for customers in 91 CMAs, Alltel is providing unlimited calling to and from any five, 15 or 25 numbers on any network. Alltel Wireless was also the first to offer Anytime Plan Changes, giving customers the flexibility to change their calling plans at any time without extending their contract.

Thumbs up, they are trying to keep the people in the divested markets releasing phones and perks that only the divested markets can get

I didn’t think they would do that Friends & Family thing, even though it’s a pool of #’s for fams instead of each line getting their own, so you never know

This wont be a venture followed by VZW. Don Louie had it right that this is a retention effort on the divested side to prevent any further customer losses.

so these 91 divested markets are still owned and operated by verizon till they find someone who will buy them. the question is who will buy them, how much will they pay and what if verizon cant sell ? i jsut dont get what happens…

also what i dont get. in these divested markets, isnt there access to VZW anyways? why dont they just encourage them to port to VZW

    PandaBarr says:

The Divested markets are operating under the Alltel name but owned by an independant trust company. They cant encourage them to port to VZW since that would cause the monopoly in the area which the divesting was designed to prevent in the first place. Once the divested markets are purchased by another company, they’ll begin operating under a different name.

I though Alltel was no more since Verizon bought them out? I remember back when the MyCircle plans were CHEAP. Now they’re pricey. I don’t care. I have an unlocked HTC Touch Diamond on AT&T and I’m happy. Go big blue!

Alltel’s plans were and are in line w/all the other carriers, thier My Circle plans seperate them from everybody else and had t mo following

Alltel does better than any other carrier where a combined voice + data plan – of substance – is concerned. The 5% of users who take in NFL-TV on their 2in screens don’t have the gray matter to realize how deeply they’re getting screwed by their carrier’s “content provider”.

Wasn’t this about Alltel and increasing the number off network #’s divested markets get to call anytime, who’s talking about tv let alone the NFL app carried by Sprint

Now that we’ve been enlightened to Sprint’s egregious error of offering the cheapest all inclusive bundle that’s open to all and your very twisted moral code, how ’bout that enhanced My Circle offer for divested markets?

^ -Still- twisting in the wind to make an ad out of your Jesus-carrier, eh? Even in the face of Alltel kicking its ass on value … tsk … tsk … Which Muppet is speaking now, DonVinnie?

    Don Louie says:

You brought up Sprint when bringing up that lame “NFL TV is for stupid people” argument when I was talking about carrier that have public off network calling plans. Alltel, T Mobile and now Verizon are qualifiers, that tunnel vision and comprehension problem is getting the better of you

What happened to unlimited calling to everyone? Doesn’t verizon and at&t have unlimited calling to everyone for $99?

    backbeat says:

^No. What I brought up was the concept of -value- as it relates to this expansion of Alltel’s My Circle plans. Yet, you have to create a way to start arguments where they don’t belong. Get your shit on-track and move on.

What the hell does NFL TV, which most of up here know is exclusive to a carrier who wasn’t brought up, have to do with off network calling.

    backbeat says:

^Yet -again- … the concept of value eludes you. As in … High-value where Alltel’s expanded My Circle plans are concerned versus … well, even you should be able to figure out the rest. If you weren’t such a defensive Sprint-pimping-troll, your panties wouldn’t be in such a wad.

Read what you just said, value, it’s different for everyone. I value what I value and you value what you value, in your extensive cellular knowledge you should at least see that.

    Sure thing. Buddy.

Since you obviously cannot move beyond it … In all your extensive wireless industry resources, please site for us 3 -independent- sources who agree on what percentage of your Jesus-carriers’ data customers partake, and to what degree, in all the supposed high-value NFL-TV features.

    We’ll stay tuned. ;)
