User submitted reviews coming soon to Verizon Wireless

An eagle-eyed reader spotted a new feature potentially coming to Verizon Wireless’ website. For at least the past week, Verizon has been testing user submitted reviews on its staging “testman” site. Similar to AT&T, which has had this feature for a while, customers will be able to submit reviews and rate handsets they own on a star scale. Sorry, no monkeying with the new review system as you have to log in to your Verizon Wireless account to leave a review. It looks like the Verizon Wireless employees are having enough fun for all of us anyway.

    OMG I loled at the picture so hard! I always see people doing the “I love it” thing and giving it a 1 star. WTF?

    I wonder how Verizon will use this to deceptively harm their paying customers. They must have some plot to hamper the services that you’ve paid for or trick you into buying something that you don’t need.
    They hate them some customers.

    I believe you won’t be able to write a reviewe if u dont actually own the phone. Say u have a curve u will write only for that. They won’t open the forum for every critic out there who thinks that ATT got better devices. And I bet you will see your reviwes edited big time. Can u imagine this feature in time for the early OS versions of the storm? It would have killed it. The frustrations ppl had with this. They wouldve written damaging reviewes

    Why would they hamper results? You think Verizon makes money when they have to replace a shitty phone 10 times? This will be a good warning system. I just hope it allows you to go back in and edit your review. I had a Voyager when it first came out and it was a good phone for about 2 months, then it started rebooting itself 4 or 5 times a day. So if I reviewed it after a month it would have been a good rating, but after 3 it would have been a horrible review by me. Please allow editing.

    Needless to say, oversight is required to safeguard and close any loopholes in the system. Verizon certainly doesn’t want this to turn into a liability vs the asset it should be.

    this is a very good idea, why would they change your review? This will help out customers who have no idea which are good and which arent and will save verizon money because they wont have to replace as many phones and wont have to hear people bitching because they picked a crappy phone. On another note the reviews of the storm were everywhere why would that have made a difference in the sales if reviews were on the website? seriously people think.

    but other websites have reviews too, so i dont have much to gain
    but its still nice for the average customer who doesn’t know about review websites

    they need this so i can tell them are horrible of a phone this storm is. in all honesty i blame rimm for making this trash and thinking that it was good. its either pre or iphone 3.0 for me.

    Not that I am defending the Storm, because I have also had bad experiences with it, but how do you know the Pre or iPhone 3.0 will be better? New technology is always a shot in the dark, hit or miss…. If you were one of the first people to get a Storm, you should have learned your lesson to _WAIT_ and see what people are saying about a device, before wasting $200+ on a brick. I know I’ve learned my lesson.

    Sorry Harold but that is different. When you shop for Sprint phones via Sprint’s online store, you dont see any of those reviews posted at “buzzaboutwireless”. They bury the reviews at a completely different URL.

    Verizon, like AT&T, will apparently embed the reviews within the product page for each phone. When shopping at either carrier’s online store, the customer will be able to see the reviews, both positive and negative, right there without having to seek out a different URL.
