Netflix ponders streaming to Wii and PS3

It looks like Xboxers might not be the only gaming console owners who will be able enjoy Netflix streaming in the future, provided customers show interest that is. A new survey currently being conducted by Netflix asks users a variety of questions surrounding the idea of streaming Netflix content directly to their Wii consoles. The survey also questions what the requirement to purchase a $10 “Netflix Instant Streaming Disc” would do to Wii streaming desirability, leading us to believe Nintendo has absolutely no interest in making the service available any time soonvia a firmware update. $10 to stream to the Wii and avoid purchasing and setting up yet another hardware device? Count us in. Reports also suggest a similar survey covering PlayStation 3 is currently being circulated. What do you guys think — would you pay $10 to add Netflix streaming to your Wii or PS3?

Thanks, Jon Jon!

I would pay the $10 in a NY minute. Please don’t make me buy a Roku!

Fully-supported Netflix on the PS3 would motivate me to buy one. Blu-Ray, Wi-Fi, network media streaming, and Netflix in one box would be well worth it (oh yeah, and games…). Now if Sony would just drop the price to $299.

I already use PlayOn to watch Netflix on my PS3 (which I paid $30 for). I do like the idea in general, because Netflix needs to be more open than just Xbox+Gold subscription. How can I get to this survey to add my vote?

Can’t speak for the Wii but I highly doubt PS3 will ever stream netflix because Sony won’t want to do anything to sabotage their on demand revenue.

Definitely I’ll pay even $ 20, if they expand their selection on HD titles available to stream,is a one time fee right now think about the XBOX users who have to pay up to $60 a year to access this feature in their console, and also remember the PS3 already has a Blu-ray player, for someone like me would be the ultimate HD movie experience at home.

I think a lot of people are confused about the $10 thing. The $10 is a ONE-TIME-FEE to purchase the disk that will let you access Netflix. It has nothing to do with their subscription charge, which, I’m assuming will be similar to what it is on their other platforms.

And if anyone actually understood that the $10 was a one-time-fee and still complained about it, they need ask for a raise in their allowance from their mommy and daddy. I mean, SERIOULY?! $10 sometimes won’t even pay for a family dinner at a fast food restaurant!
