Samsung Trance mock ups surface
The folks over at Samsung have certainly been busy little beavers over the past few months — apparently Samsung’s recession antidote is to crank out handsets like crazy. Fair enough, as the company is certainly putting some solid new gear on the market and the upcoming U490 Trance is no exception. Falling into the entry to mid-level category, the Trance is headed to Verizon Wireless and will reportedly be a bulkier but way more feature-packed replacement for the Juke. Here’s what has been reported so far:
- Slider form factor, hidden touch-sensitive buttons on face
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- 1GB internal memory
- microSDHC support up to 16GB
- 3.5mm stereo audio jack
- large speaker on the back
- Mobile Web 2.0 browser
- No EV-DO (boo)
Not bad, provided the added features don’t push the price too high above the Juke it replaces. The Samsung Trance is slated to hit Verizon shelves some in Q2 so expect it to make a cameo at CTIA. Hit the jump for the full set of slides along with an FCC shot of the back.

I think it is a reasonable post for first time buyers. Who would google abd hit up bgr before buying. We got to keep in mind there are people out there who still don’t know wtf bluetooth means/does. Even people who are ij the it sector.

Some of the comments just show the lack of knowledge of the wireless business. You have to have phones in EVERY category! If people worked one day in the wireless business they would see how out in left field they are.
^Yes, Virginia … There is a place for bottom-rung phones for “tweens”. Over-coverage of their release only shows the lack of depth of real news-worthy breaking news or coverage. Just a thought …

i just purchased this phone but have not received it yet – i just switched to verizon from at&t….i only got this phone bc it was free! not too excited about the 1.3 mp but we will see
