@NintendoBoy,

you’re kind of going overboard saying apple approves only the apps they want. There are so many apps submitted each week and very few are denied and when they are denied apple USUALLY has a good reason. Sure once in a while they screw someone or the app reviewer at apple drops the ball and denies an app for a bs reason, but generally they make good choices.

No Apple doesn’t need to sue anyone…. ESPECIALLY after this whole “podium” debacle if those rumors are true cuz thats a joke… I don’t see why you wouldn’t want a app store for every media device you own since it could only make it better in my honest opinion.

There should only be one App store, the Apple App store. Apple needs to sue everyone like Blackberry who is copying this whole app store idea.

Thinking bout just getting a DS Lite in a few days rather than a DSi, but I’ll pay the extra cash if the App Store will have old school classics like the Legend of Zelda series and a few other. Otherwise, the few other improvements don’t warrant me spending an extra $40

I don’t really see it as jumping on the App Bandwagon. As much as some people dislike Apple, they really brought idea of an App Store to the front and everyone now sees how well a app store like place can do. Not to mention, many consumers are coming to expect an App Store as something that should be on there from the beginning.

I’m not, any connected device needs an app store, this is a great move from Ninty as it will put pressure on others to raise their game which is good news for us consumers.

And Apple has such a great process? Seems the Big N and Apple both want control over what Apps / Games get developed. I also don’t think you will see Nintendo allow amateur developers to submit titles. I guess a good start would be getting their development tools out to more people.

Unless nintendo gets more wifi hotspots in play it won’t be the same as a AppStore/World etc that can be reached anywhere you have a wireless signal.

All that being said, Nintendo has such a HUGE back catalog NES/SNES they could command a huge portion of this space. Which I guess they already do since no one has even come close in the past 10+ years to even dent their market share. Hasn’t the DS already sold like 50+ million devices.

Now this would be great if it wasn’t nearly impossible to be granted permission by nintendo to be a 3rd party developer. Image how many apps would be on appstore if apple held similar prerequisits.
