iPhone OS 3.0 screenshot walkthrough

One of our ninjas just sent us in shots of the iPhone running OS 3.0, so we figured we’d put them together inĀ  gallery for everyone. There aren’t any earth-shattering features in here, but still, it’s always good to have a gander at what’s to come. Hit the gallery link for the shots!

Thanks, Robby!

P.S. For all your workaholics, we’ve been told there is Exchange 2007 remote search built into the mail application now.

Nice. I’m actually gonna steal the idea in the pics and put up iPhone on the carrier name instead of my lame name.

This is a pretty sad announcement. iPhone comes up to the phones of 2 years ago! FLASH, uh, nope, no flash. Good for getting a landscape keyboard. My wifes new LG Vu for $29 has that too. OH?? It’s a year old. Dedicated API for streaming video did it say? ORB works fine already doing that. I find it all lacking terribly. ed

To all the haters no matter what is out there the Iphone has the BEST touchscreen os, it is the first one and the best one. Sure it lacks some stuff that other phones had for a long time, but who cares, I still enjoy it as it was the first day I got it.
So suck on that RIM, windows mobile, symbian or any other that tries to compete….. we have the best touchscreen!!!!!

Complain all you want but it does not change the fact that the iPhone is one of the best selling phones WITHOUT standard technology. It’s only going to blow up even more now. I think it’s more sad that Apple can get people this riled up by adding standard technology. DOn’t blame, Apple, blame the game.

NOTHING EARTH SHATTERING??? Copy/Paste and MMS is HUGE for the iPhone users, and the fact that Apple actually LISTENED to the users is simply astounding. Heck, even an audio recorder! You mix all the ADVANTAGES that iPhone had to start with, and now you add these BASIC features that SHOULD have been there from the start, and all of the sudden the iPhone is on top again. Now let’s see what the Palm Pre actually offers…

By buying prototype BlackBerrys off eBay for $2,000? That’s how we got scooped by CrackBerry?

@ the people that bitch and moan –

Its funny where your perspective in life lies. You can continue to look at the iPhone 3G from a negative point of view by all means, be my guest. The fact is that even with your pathetic comments, I am keeping my iPhone 3G.

Much respect to the other mobile OS’s. So far, Apple took a stab at being different and its working.

The lack of copy paste was a barrier – intentional in my opinion – to keep the appeal away from business users. Adding this simple functionality opens the device to a whole new market. From a marketing standpoint, it is well timed, even if it made current users angry. I’m not an iphone user but I think the device is certainly fantastic and will continue to grow in popularity.

BG – I like a lot of what you do. However, a scoop is scoop, whether its paid for or sent in for nothing. Kevin does good job at Crackberry and his purchase gamble paid off in this case.

Agree completely. He pulled the Niagara thing off. Just think people blow out this “rivalry” thing a little too much, that’s all.

Good to hear that. The guy who called you an iPhone fanboy obscured the point and missed the point:
How could you not have talked about iPhone stuff this afternoon? And, on the otherhand, why would you spend time talking about another site’s stories?

    Keep up the good work!

The funny thing is that many of these other phones definitely had these features for years and I missed some of them by getting an iPhone. But when you look at what this os/touchscreen requires they needed more time. I was anxious and a little ticked off at timea but when this update drops it might not have all the bells and whistles of all these other phones but what it does it does a whole lot better than most. We always think of another year better tech. But honestly its about simplicity. Its like putting a 600 horsepower engine in a car you drive to work. It makes no sense but people buy it anyway. Not justifying the lack of features but two year of this device lacking but really beating everything out is really saying something. The game will never be the same thanks to Apple. Give credit where it’s do.
