Details on Samsung’s first Android device emerge

In the blurriest of blurrycam photos, an image and details of Samsung’s first Android offering has reportedly emerged. The Android handset is rumored to feature a candybar design with a large, capacitive touchscreen display, 3.2 or 5 megapixel camera, 528MHz processor, unknown amount of internal memory, microSD expansion, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, email, Internet browser and, of course, full Google integration. Good news on the connectivity front as the handset is rumored to be a quad-band GSM phone with UMTS, HSDPA 7.2 and HSUPA 1.4. Two versions are expected, one with US HSPA and one for Europe and Asia. No pricing or release date was revealed but all these juicy details should be adequate to tide everyone over for a little while.

I don’t even know if that should qualify as a blurrycam photo; it looks like someone used the digital zoom on their cell phone and took a picture of a LCD monitor.

The potential hardware specs are nice, but that picture is less than worthless. It’s a Rorschach test for cell phones.

lol @ Orga and the Rorschach ref. The picture does hold grounds for best.. er.. worst Blurrycam of the year. Luckily Android has the giant floating clock or we wouldnt know what was on that screen.

I hope they release it soon. I’m waiting for an Android device without a keyboard and the HTC Magic appears to be it, if I don’t have anything else to choose from.

I’m getting pretty tired of all the good phones getting EITHER USA or Europe frequencies for 3G. Is it all that hard to do it like old GSM quad that beotch up!!

Where’s the scoop on the CDMA version? I know Samsung is making one for US carriers.

Actually true global 3G requires a QUINTband phone (850/900/1700/1900/2100). So much for 3G and LTE bringing the world together, right?
