Sprint’s Q1-Q3 2009 device roadmap leaks

When it rains, it pours — and if this newly leaked deck turns out to be the real deal, it’s definitely pouring over at Sprint right now. Phone News claims to have gotten its hands on a roadmap revealing the entirety of Sprint’s upcoming line up for the first three quarters of 2009 and, well, things are looking pretty good. We have no reason to doubt the authenticity of the slides for the time being so we’ll let the deck do the talking. Highlights include affirmation of a Q2 Palm Pre release (shown above with model number P100), the BlackBerry Niagra dropping towards the end of Q3 and a handful of Samsung and HTC handsets that should keep the Windows Mobile crowd happy. Hit the jump for the complete collection of slides.

Thanks, Rusty!

    VZN,
Since you work for Verizon and have stated that they will have the Niagara before Sprint, you obviously know something. Please enlighten us with the months that both carriers will have it.

The timeline slides are dated 2008. That could be old info – notice that they don’t even show the Pre, just a brown wrapper. The individual slides seem to be more current, but references to Neutron OS on the Pre lead me to believe that they too are dated.

    For The Win.

The biggest info here is the category that the Pre is in. A) Looks like a May release based on 3 slots per column. B)In order for them to label the row android/google, there has to be something in the works for ‘10. No reason to put that there if there’s no plan to release one.

Look just below the yellow bar on the first two slides. It says “Android/Google in Q4/09″.

A lot of questions about the Android phones. I remember the post on engadget saying that the Samsung Android phone that T-Mobile and Sprint were supposed to get was delayed until late 09. I would say that it will most likely come out in the 4th quarter.

The Palm “Monk” is the Palm Treo Pro which came out the other day.

The fact that the Palm Treo Pro came out just now (after it was delayed from Q1) and also the LG Rumor 2 just came out (listed as Q2 on the road map) would imply that this can at least be trusted a little bit. Of course, I would expect delays.

Does anyone know if the Pre will support VOIP, or something similar to the UMA feature found on some t-mo phones? (ie. bb 8900)

My concern is that I can’t afford to buy the 900+ min Sprint Everything plans…..but could get by with the 450 min plan for $69.99 if there is a UMA-like feature. Thanks fellas!

Jonny, you can get Airave and pay for unlimited use around it for $15 but it won’t work anywhere but within a 5K foot radius and a broadband/DSL connection is needed
