Tied down to Vodafone? Actually, just like you, we (Verizon users) unlock our phones and use any SIM as well. So I am confused….What was the benefit of having a SIM only GSM phone other than you get to suffer with continuous network outages?

Don’t feel sorry for Sprint users. We get to choose our sim cards when we go over to Europe. We’re not tied down to Vodafone like Verizon users are.

What you said is right, “It’s all about the network, stupid!”, for sure. My only concern, and it’s only a little one, is does it also have the Vodafone SIM for global (sorry Sprint users)? I’m pretty sure it does and if so, it will be best of both worlds.

Looking for clarification of your remarks – when you said “Come to Sprint I dont want a Pre – is that because you’re locked into an enterprise situation and need Blackberry? Because if you’re already having to put up with Sprint, I couldn’t imagine a better place to be than the Pre – unless you’re in need of a BES server. Had the Pre for a half hour at one of the shows, and I actually think I’d suffer through Sprint for the device, its got that much potential.

It’s coming to both Verizon and Sprint this year.

I would say that Sprint is more inclined to let wifi live on than Verizon. They’re starting to include wifi in more and more of their pda phones(Pre included) and i wouldn’t be surprised if that stays true with the Niagra.

I would say these will be out by the summer or during the summer depending on the carrier.

I’m sick ‘n tired from these ppl complaining about “the lack of 3G” find me a place besides NYC that ATT’s 3G works!!! The speed of the bold is because it has a good processor and put it together with verizons network (rev A) and it will outperform all ATT devices combined!!! That’s why the 9630 is such a brilliant device. Bring it on big red already!!!

This phone is going to Verizon first (exclusivity) and will possibly trickle down to Sprint later. As far as cross over? This phone was initially created as a CDMA variant to the Bold which is already available on ATT. Size specs are very similar to the Bold however do not compare this phone to the curve II. The curve II is still much smaller and sleeker in my opinon, the keyboard is obviously a direct cross over from the Bold while the edge and top seem to borrow styling ques from the storm/curve II. However this phone originated and will always be known as the CDMA version of the Bold. The device was supposed to carry WIFI as well however Verizon had complaints regarding that so they asked to omit WIFI for this phone. The Bold however is still considered the RIM flagship as it has 3G and WIFI while this phone and the Storm do not.

It’s a GSM/CDMA phone. At least this one is. I talked to the seller personally, take it for what you want. Any of you who are saying it will be for Verizon could ‘possibly’ be right. The phone you are viewing my pictures of, is actually of the dual version.
