New images of BlackBerry Niagra 9630 surface

That’s right people, it’s getting closer. We can almost taste it now in fact. The CDMA answer to the BlackBerry Bold 9000 and Curve 8900 has just popped up in a new round of live shots, this time a bit more clear than the last round. We also get a pretty clear glimpse of the back this time around, which could be a good thing or a bad thing. Apparently the faux leather on the Bold battery cover isn’t polarizing enough so RIM decided to up the ante. Yikes. What do you guys think — love it, hate it or who cares just give me a sexy new CDMA BlackBerry already?! Hit the jump for the shot of the back.

Thanks, Will!

HOLY SHIZZLE!!! SPRINT better pick this up quick before they bleed to death, this would be one of the 2 reasons i’d stay with them (first being their Simply Everything Plan).

Everyone is whining about the back… PUT A FRIKKEN COVER ON THE THINGS IF YOU DONT WANNA LOOK AT THE BACK! There – easy as pie, problem solved.

I think the phone is a nice cross between Curve 2 as I call it and the BOLD.

Lets hope it does come to Sprint and has GSM in it too! I mean, why should the Storm have both and not the new Niagra

According to close sources that I know in RIM as well as Sprint, this device will be released to Sprint first if not the same time as Verizon. AT

im pretty sure the back will not stay glossy black. when crackberry did its first review of a bold brought on ebay, it also had the glossy back cover.

the back is not carbon fiber, it looks like theres a blue tint plastic cover on it that you’re supposed to peel off. after that i think its a mesh like backing with a lot of holes.

    backbeat says:

^Just as RIM did with (p)leather on the Bold, it could be faux-carbon fiber.

    @ StevenGlansburg

LOL this version of the Niagra will NEVER come to AT&T or T-Mobile duh, put 2 and 2 together. This phone is CDMA and the latter carriers are GSM. Now, if and when they decide to release this with GSM compatible hardware is something else.
