BlackBerry BIS outage affecting regions across North America
Here we go again, people — you know the drill. Tips are flooding our inboxes from users across the US and Canada reporting some major BIS issues. Namely, it’s not working. We’ve heard from several Rogers users up in Canada as well as tons of AT&T and Verizon customers here in the US. Claims range from intermittent service interruptions to full-on “all is lost, my ‘Berry is dead” reports. Roll call… Is your ‘Berry alive?
Well, I’m Philly and haven’t gotten an E-mail since 11:30 am EST – but that could just because its Friday. I haven’t logged into my mail to check yet.
And, I’m on a BES.
Vancouver, BC is fine. No problems here.
Gmail stopped working on Verizon in Houston
Sprint 8830 pasadena,ca email is working fine.
Ok here in Arizona with Verizon on my Storm. Logged in to email options, sent Service Book and all is good. No delays.
Cellular South, 8330 Curve – All is well in Central Mississippi!
Working just fine in Huntsville, Alabama. But it has been spotty for a week or so.
Wow Blackberry outages are more and more common now a days. Gone are the days of the most reliable Blackberry service.
Berry is working well
Durham, NC one Alltel/Verizon is up and running with no issues.
I just almost cannot stop laughing here…Not too long ago on two seperate occassions that I can recall off hand, BB services we’re down and there was a hearty argument here about the inherent potential for service interuptions and issues on BB’s vs smartphones (Palm & Windows) due to the reliance on BB service in addition to service provider/internet services. The BB fans just stood strong that there’s nothing wrong with BB’s in this sense…well, here were AGAIN for the 3rd time in I think as many months with service interuptions to BB’s only…Just freakin’ funny!
Sprint – Houston Texas
Around 2:54PM CST, I received 9 emails from earlier in the day. I checked the accounts and verified email was received much earlier.
Internet access has been slow/intermittent all day as well.
Vzw BIS is and has been fine all day here in NYC. Say word.

BIS service on Verizon 8830 in Central NJ is down to Chinatown.
VZW – BIS here in Central Iowa, for me at least, seems to be delayed. heavily. I’m getting emails way late.
In Waterloo, Ontario with Rogers and BIS has been working great all day.
BIS – Verizon Pearl, Huntsville, AL- No Problems.
Verizon-Storm-San Francisco & San mateo/Burlingame- Just fine!
AT&T San Francisco. Spotty email for two days, especially bad today. BB9000 just shut down at one point.
Verizon Wireless 8330 Curve. Working Intermittently
Tmo new york it up and down/slow!
Vzw bis on 8330 in Ohio. Been shaky for a few days. Side note:Yahoo users will see issues starting today and continuing through tomorrow due to maintenance.
Curve 8330 and Storm 9530 working well in Wenatchee, WA
ATT down in north Austin, TX for about 3 hours today. It would work sporadically, not nearly as bad as last month’s outage.
