U2 ditches Apple, joins up with RIM
Apple and pop band U2 have long enjoyed a successful business relationship that proved to the world there is such a thing as an overwhelming display of smugness. It all started back in 2004 with the release of the iPod U2 Special Edition but now it looks like those days are over. RIM has signed on as official tour sponsor of U2’s upcoming “U2 360″ tour which will see U2 play in both Europe and North America. U2’s manager has already hailed this partnership as something that will foster a “shared vision”, but we’re not too sure we even want to know what that could possibly be.
There’s no official word yet on this one, but rumors are already circulating that John Mayer (who left Apple for a free BlackBerry Bold) is desperately trying to fill the void felt in Cupertino by winning back Apple’s heart via the sloppiest seconds the world has ever seen. Seeing as Mayer has no plans for a world tour let alone new album however, we doubt very much that Apple will take him back. Guess he’ll have to keep resorting to creative ways of earning income as the global recession has left his fanbase of pre-teens and pensioners without a penny to spare. Pitty.

Seriously – I tried to make it as obvious as possible. Nancy Pelosi’s ideals far differ from the Zimmerwald socioeconomic structure, or did you miss that day in your social studies class? C’mon REALLY? Taking a better deal is bad? U2 (not a fan) has to make a living too. Besides RIM needs to reach the everyday consumer. They OWN the business sector. It makes sense for RIM to reach out. By the by BGR boys, your bias is showing a green hue. Keep up the good work though.
@David Thande: Beackbeat tries to label others as trolls when his entire contributions are textbook trolling. He offers only insults and dismissals of any opinion that differs from his own without offering any cognitive rebuttal.
This leads me to two conclusions:
A.) He’s in his mid-thirties but attempts to use escalated vocabulary to pad his age perception. Most likely of mixed racial decent. I’m thinking Caucasian mother, Hippy anti-war protester that got mixed up with an African American or Hispanic father. I’m assuming mom and dad never got married and she ended up raising little backbeat on her own. From the HUGE chip on his shoulder, she probably had to resort to prostitution or stripping to make ends meet. He probably has a few years of college education in some form of technical field but never completed. Possibly due to some sort of substance abuse problem. He also had an uncle, friend or mentor of some sort (replacement father figure) that was homosexual and passed away when backbeat was in his mid-teens.
Or, he is actually in his late forties. He himself is homosexual, and recovering from a bad substance abuse problem. Most likely methamphetamines. Likely completed college with a technical degree, but has a criminal record (drugs) and therefore cannot seek gainful employment in his field. Parents had inter-racial marriage (I’m leaning latino), and received a lot of racism because of it. Probably has significant financial debts.
I’m leaning toward the latter, but his over reactions with direct insults and the opinion maker instead of the opinion screams “25, the new 15″. Which is why I’m leaning that he may be homosexual. Unless he is actually as she.
Or I could be completely off and he’s a 22 year old mamma’s boy (mom used to be hippy vietnam war protestor). Comes from a middle class family that sent him to catholic school, but he failed out of junior college anyway but is capable of using thesaurus.com really well.

Anyways, U2 is irrelevent, kids (future sales base) and young adults dropping money on phones are not listening to U2.I don’t know why RIM would make this move unless They are using U2 to target the metro liberal 30-40 somethings has beens which they believe to be Apple’s target market.As much as I hate hip-hop, it’s more popular and marketable to young people (money spenders) than U2.

@Don Louie: That wasn’t an attack, I was actually profiling him. Seriously, No racial undertones were meant. Based on quite a few character distinctions I have noticed, I associated those to people I know. I took those dominate traits and put together possible profiles of who he may be. I’m certainly no expert, nor do I have any formal training in profiling. I just watch a shitload of Criminal Minds.
Backbutt and John Mayer are probably giving each other pedicures right now. MadMike- that profiling _was_ borderline offensive, but also friggin’ hilarious and probably not all that far off.
