A) Contain further “wonderings” which cannot be answered/objectively defined;

and/or

I have the 700p. Also just got the 800W. The 800W is a joke. Low battery life for a smart phone? WTH where they thinking? I was at one of our retail stores. Got to “mess around” with the Pro for about 15 minutes. It was enough to just frown and tell the manager that it was no better then then 800w. I’m at my 27 day mark with my 800W and I’m waiting for a return kit. All I can say is “lots of lockups, lots of taking off the battery to reset and never call 911″. I had to do a HARD RESET to get it out of 911 mode the other day. No fix. Windows on ANYPHONE is a joke. I was very disapointed that we are still selling this phone for if I was just a regular customer and paid 500 bucks for this thing, I would be pissed. I got the biggest extended battery I could get and still only get about 48 hrs of normal use (just a few email and a couple of 30 min phone calls). I’m going back to get the 755p. At least it’s more stable.

When I was frustrated with waiting for the Palm Treo Pro, I went into a Sprint store to check out the HTC Touch Pro and I was not impressed. I found the phone’s (HTC Touch Pro) casing to be cheap and plastic feeling and navigating the screens annoying.

I think the Treo Pro is the best available smartphone running Windows Mobile. I also heard that it would be upgradeable to the Windows Mobile 6.5.

I’ve got one of these now, as well as A Touch Pro and Touch Diamond, and the responsiveness of WinMo is much quicker on the Treo Pro than of the latter. Battery life is proving to be much better as well. The screen is not as nice, but it hasn’t hampered the user experience. If someone asks me, I’d recommend this device over the other WinMo alternatives. IE6 isn’t terrible either.

@Don Louie, you are confused.

In January 2007 Sprint claimed that they would have wimax in Washington DC by “the end of 2007.”

Semicoln (is that you Don?) is waving a release saying their partner will have in in Washington DC in 2010.

Being three years late (more likly four or five) is not an accomplishment, it is a sign of a company that will probably not follow through with the claims, since they have claimed 2007, 2008, 2009 already.

I look at it this way … This marks the last time Palm will release a crutch device so it won’t matter that it’s cannibalized. In that way, I think Palm is testing the marketing ‘might’ of webOS by having release dates somewhat near each other. If the Pre consumes the Pro in its entirety, they will have a potential success on their hands. If, however, the Pro sells at a healthy clip, Palm continues to face their own demise. Life on the brink of extinction is always dramatic to watch, isn’t it? …
