Verizon Wireless HTC Touch Diamond gets pictured

We got our hands on some pictures of a test model of the Verizon Wireless Touch Diamond rocking its sleek, black and shiny casing. Unlike Verizon’s Touch Pro, the Diamond has retained the characteristic faceted back. The Verizon version of the Touch Diamond has the following specs:

  • CPU: Qualcomm 7500A
  • Speed: 528 MHz
  • RAM size: 128MB
  • Flash size: 256MB
  • Display resolution: 480×640
  • 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus

Looks like Big Red did indeed knock the memory down to 128/256MB but kept the processor speed at 528MHz and not 400MHz as was previously rumored. A microSD card slot is under the battery as a consolation for the drop in memory.  For those that must know, the Touch Diamond also has an accelerometer and comes with HTC’s tilting” game “Teeter”.  Aww, how nice! Hit the jump for a few more shots of the long awaited Verizon Wireless Touch Diamond.

Thanks, JM!

Flea, that was really funny. I’m up way too late and your comment has me rolling! Btw, the Diamond looks cool. I’ll skip it though, since I’m a BlackBerry guy.

props for keeping the back cover VZW. but it has been raped down again, at least the processor wasnt weakened like thier touch pro, ram is important in windows mobile, lowering it really causes a slow down from memory leaks.

I’m sorry, but what is so special about HTC? I have used them before in the stores and they seem like cheap pieces of crap.

Wow, Looks like big red has done it again, i BET they will charge more for it than the Sprint version….

Why would people pay for this when they can get double the memory and a more stable version with anyone EVEN Sprint

looks like they chewed it up and spit out an uglier version of it. verizon logo on top right. send and end keys are supposed to be white and htc logo below the screen. the color of the actual phone is off as well.

i can’t possibly understand why they’d want to put less memory in the phone, hell i’d be happier if there was MORE.

I can’t believe verizon is just releasing this now. it’s already outdated with htc introducing it’s new 09 lineup. the touch pro was already released almost half a year ago and flopped b/c verizon crippled it with less memory. and why would anyone be interested in this knowing the touch diamond 2 and touch pro 2 will soon be coming out.

bring on the haterade you bunch a whiners

ya’ll will be saying the same sad stuff if/when Verizon ever gets the Iphone too.

I don’t understand why everyone insists the phone is crippled. Even if it did have 256 of RAM you would still find something to say it’s crippled.

Everyone insists that the phone is crippled because the phone IS crippled. All Diamonds have 192MB of RAM while this version only has 128MB

    blur(p)s says:

I kind of think this phone wasn’t meant for heavy mobile device users (note the creation of its business oriented bro, the touch pro). I mean, yeah, everyone wants a nice phone, which can be found near and far, but this phone far surpasses just being “nice” to look at and moves into the sophisticated and stylish range. Alongside that, it holds more than enough capability to blow a good number of its competition out of the water should the need arise. Definitely a phone for general consumers who do not demand an intense device but rather, prefer something that’s half way there.

Yay for my lame & repetitive opinions! ^_^

I hope the keyboard is good cuz the verizon really screwed up the touch pro with that m key and the memory. If the keyboards typable I’m getting the diamond!
