Microsoft unveils its vision for the future
At the recent Wharton Business Technology Conference, Steven Elop, president of Microsoft’s business division, unveiled the latest future montage video from Microsoft Office Labs. The video, known simply as 2019, provides a sneak peek at the future according to Microsoft. The widespread use of surface and touchscreen devices coupled with ubiquitous wireless connectivity provides a future worthy of any science fiction novel. It is an interesting watch and will be even more interesting as the future unfolds and we see which of these technologies come to fruition. Hit the jump for the video.

Rey your mom made me really sleepy!
I’m a PC!
2019? that long? of course, it’s microsoft.
Well, you might be dead.
Yeah, and by that time Macs will be controlled by brainwaves. Just give up on Windows and viruses and ‘accept or deny’, and get a virus free Mac. Live a little!
seems cool enough. all the power to you ms
if the world is headed for touchscreen everything simple virus’s will run rampide no? Whos going to keep these things clean? all that transparent glass with be a smudgey mess
Wait, what’s all this touchscreen crap? Where’s the qwerty keyboards? Ballmer says we all want keyboards. This touchscreen stuff is never going to fly.
maximus – Windex stock. Take that as a tip
The Treo Pro seems so dead in the water since the Pre was announced. I’d find it hard to drop any money on the Pro after seeing the demo videos of the Pre.
That future looks too good to be true. Number 1, there is no advertising anywhere in the future. Number 2, everything works seamlessly across a wide number of devices and formats. Number 3, air travel is actually pleasant and relaxing. Number 4, blindness has been cured since EVERY interface is purely VISUAL.
this tech was also shown in quantum of solace, in british intell hq. i wouldnt be surprised if all of the tech shown in this video was already slated for prod and microsoft was already working on the next innovation. crazy creative. im a mac user, but im extremely interested in how portable computing figures into this touchscreen/interactive/network-type tech.
^now that’s what I call perspective
